You willl need a high end CPU cooler. New multithreaded optimized games will need as much coolling as possible

I upgrqded from an i7-8700k and this thing blows it out of the water in 1080p, and even 1440p gaminf performance. It was also on sale which made it cheaper than what I paid for the 8700k years ago.

Serious problem getting 13th Gen to operate. No matter how many i swapped, no M/O would accept it. So many bugs and errors, wasted dozen hours at least. Went to 14th GEN with couple patch updates and it worked. I'd stay from this CPU. Mostly my fault since I knew about all the bugs in 13th GEN.

These 13th and 14th gen i7 and i9 CPUs are plagued with issues Intel refused to recall them. I am one of the victims of those failing CPUs. I purchased this processor in early July 2023 to build my new gaming desktop. It started to have problems in October 2024 when my computer would take 2 minutes for it to POST, go into the BIOS settings, and boot into M-Flash on an MSI motherboard. This processor was used in two motherboards. I mainly used the computer for gaming and work. I also noticed my computer lags very bad at times and it got BSOD a few times, one related to the CPU. I decided to switch to an AMD Ryzen 7 7700x CPU so my computer doesn't have anymore issues. My computer has been rock solid with an AMD CPU in a different motherboard that supports AM5 CPUs. I am completely done with Intel. I will never buy another Intel processor again and any computers that have an Intel processor in them.

This thing worked pretty well for about 2 years, but unfortunately, "deteriorated" and can no longer play Unreal Engine games without crashing! Look up the "Oodle Decompression Error" for specific details. It's a shame because it's so pricey. Highly recommend doing some heavy research if going to buy an Intel CPU in the future, because they just aren't what they used to be. Bought an AMD 9800X3D, again, after only TWO YEARS!

Star citizen runs too well. Its running 100-150 frames. Depends on the scenery.

Haven’t got it to work yet. Went through several troubleshooting sessions. Replaced the mobo twice and the ram twice. So I’ve ruled out everything except this. Pro tip kids: try to buy all your parts at once and keep the mental note of your return window. That way, you can build it right away and know what is defective and can then have time to return it. You get overzealous and purchase early and wait for other parts, your return window gets smaller and you haven’t even started building yet, but could potentially run into an issue outside your return window.
