No hyper threading.

Go for the next generation. AMD shamed Intel into enabling hyper threading for "lower" priced CPUs. However, I do not think an I7 should have been considered a low priced CPU. Also, Intel does not include a cooler/fan like AMD does. Factor the cost of that into your decision.

Was hoping for more

I really seems to have issues with anything multitask related, and in general it is just sluggish. I would recommend going with something else unless you just need something to get you by.
