Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Core i7-9700K's gaming prowess, price-to-performance ratio, and easy installation. They appreciate its multitasking capabilities, powerful performance, and cooler temperatures compared to other processors. While some find it expensive, others point out that it lacks hyper-threading and is a generation or two behind.

Ended up going with this processor over the i5. Although this does not have hyper threading, the 8 cores and their base clock speed is great. I eventually have plans to overclock but will have to get a larger aio and that means getting a larger case. Overall, I have zero regrets with this.

This is probably one of the best processors intel has produced. If you're a gamer, you will love this processor's speed. If you're not a gamer, you will still love this processor as it can handle many different types of apps on your desktop.

This the best processor you can buy right now other than the I9-9900K. The only difference between the I7-9700k and the I9-9900K is Hyper Threading, they both have the same amount of cores (8). In my opinion there is not enough of a performance increase with the I9 to justify the extra cost.

I purchased this CPU to pair with a RTX 2060 Super which has been a nice combo as the main pieces in my gaming build. This CPU will future proof me for a few years with games becoming more & more demanding. If you purchase this CPU, ensure to combo with a similar powerful GPU or more as I have.

    Excellent product for moderate tasks

To start off it's an excellent product, however... If you want to do moderately intensive AVX workloads, look elsewhere to the AMD Ryzen platform for those tasks. Where you benefit from the headroom given to do those tasks while not drawing an enormous amount of power from the wall. If you are the type that is into photo manipulation or an Adobe Premiere user, this product is for you. If you need effects to be completely quickly, or fast timeline scrubbing the 9700k can easily do this and shave time off from rending queues. And as for gamers this probably the best bang of the buck for high refresh rate monitors and competitive gaming. Just make sure you pair it with an appropriate graphics card. Do, however make sure it's something you need for an edge in your games and not just a flashy showpiece. As stated before about power draw, this CPU can draw quite abit of it. It can draw about 160watts +/- 15% while on load at stock settings. If you do intend to overclock as per the "K" moniker allows, power draw can easily hit 220+ Watts. Try to pair this with a bespoke motherboard for reliable stability. Be sure not to skimp on an efficient cooling solution, under load it can hit the 80s or 90s on regular. Pros: It works and works well Good solution for content creation Cons: Power hog and worse while overclocked It is an older product compared to new offerings.

Coming from someone who has been with Intel for their entire PC gaming life, going with the new generation's high-end chip seemed like a no-brainer. Well, evidently I missed out on the message, and as someone who also focuses primarily on video editing and multimedia workflows over gaming performance, this is NOT THE RIGHT CPU FOR YOU. In gaming it works absolutely above almost every other CPU on the market right now, but the media performance is lackluster, and should warrant the extra money to get those extra 8 threads from the 9900k.

Easy to install and easy to overclock (provided you have the appropriate motherboard.) All around a great CPU although it is debatable on the price. If you can get it discounted, then buy it! Only been about a month since we've had it, but its chugging away with no issues.

For most people upgrading from a 6th or 7th gen intel (non K cpu) this is a great buy that provides so much more peformance for your buck. However, if you are like me and have overclocked both kabylake (7700k) & coffeelake (8700k) systems, then you may be in for a disappointment. If you really want to upgrade, maybe go for the i9 instead or even a mid-tier to higher end AMD cpu.

Super fast processor. Although it's not an i9, there is almost no noticeable difference. The packaging is also super sleek which is always nice to be able to display in my home office. My computer is screaming with this CPU in it,

I upgraded from an I5 9400f to the I7 9700K for my VR rig. With the new cpu, there is a big improvement in FPS with sim racing and physics heavy games such as Project Cars 2, Half Life Alyx and Boneworks. It was also very easy to install

Upgraded from an i5-7600k and I suggest you do too. Has great gaming performance, and multitasking. If you're a streamer or editor, i suggest the i9. But for straight gaming can't go wrong with the i7.

I was worried with the I7 9700K not having hyper-threading, but with everything I do the raw cores just work.. I am surprised how good this chip performs and it doesn't run too hot with a small overclock.

I upgraded to this from a 8 core 4 GHz AMD and saw the difference right away. Thus CPU not even being OCed if fast. Can't wait to OC this and see what I can do. Well worth the money at $360.

I am very pleased with this processor, even though it's a previous generation. I combined it with the MSI Z390 Gaming Plus mobo, and the WD Black 500GB SS m.2 storage. Windows 10 boots up in less than 20 seconds.

I've always used Intel CPU's. Never had a problem with any of them. I recently purchased this chip for a new computer I built. Replaces my i7 first gen chip. This thing is awesome. Just seat of the pants, but this thing blows my old chip away.

I recently built 2 computers (one Ryzen and one Intel) and both are doing exceptionally well at this point in time. Would recommend it if discounted, would not otherwise because the 10700k is out now for a similar price.
