I bought this CPU and paired it with a 4070ti, I genuinely cannot find a game that won’t run 1440p 240hz at max settings. This processor is so good that I’m convinced my monitor is a bottleneck now. 15/10 would buy again.

Was a bit hesitant with the reported issues, but at least according to Intel, those have been resolved. The performance is fantastic, fast, and very good for gaming/multi-processing needs.

Intel's Core i9-14900K processor is essentially the Core i9-13900K with a slight clock boost, but a bit more prone to overheating and throttling. If you can find a 13900K for less money, opt for it, as the 14900K is much the same chip in practice.

I splurged to buy the best cpu available at the time, and I have not regretted it. This CPU handles multiple virtual machines simultaneously, as if they are entirely separate PCs. The only caveat really is the need to buy a CPU cooler capable of handling it, and that adds even more cost to the build.

I upgraded from the 12700K to 14900K. I kept all other components the same. I do notice faster multi core performance and some gains in gaming depending on the title. I do use zips often and emulators like RPCS3 and the 14900K def delivers. I would highly recommend you pair this with a 360 AIO or you set the PL1 and PL2 to Intel defaults. This thing runs hot on my 240 AIO and it idles in the high 30s. At full load it climbs to 70+C using Intel's limits. If I enable Asus MCE then it's too hot for my cooling solution. If you are on 11th gen or older, get this. If you are on 12th gen or newer you will be underwhelmed without spending time tweaking many settings in the BIOS. This is not a plug and play chip. It's for tweakers. If you want plug and play buy the 12900K. It's cheaper, runs cooler and has headroom for OC.

Its fast and powerful, but it runs hotter than the surface of the sun lol. I have a huge double tower cooler with the best thermal paste and 140mm fans - and the chip under full load will hover in the 90’s (C) - and it idles in the 30s. Other than that, it rips through anything you throw at it.

These get a lot of bad press but honestly I never see a problem with any of the 6 intel gen 13 and gen 14 i9 cpu's that I own spread across several pc's . USE WITH WATERCOOLING !!! Don't even think about an air cooler . I have used this chip with ARTIC liquid freezer 3 420mm AIO and the temps hover in the low 80's at maximum output in Cinebench . If your looking for low temps in the 60's youll need to use direct die cooling and liquid metal

It runs hot. Takes some tweaking to get the best performance. Probably not the best gaming CPU out there. It is powerful and a solid option. Make sure you get a powerful cooler.

Intel has really fumbled with these 1400 and 1300 series cpu’s. High temps along with excessive wattage. Performance is stellar as long as you know what you are doing. For the average consumer, However, this will be a nightmare if you don’t research on it before buying. Some Asus mobo’s will grill your cpu also so make sure to update the bios to latest version with USB FLASH. Also I don’t recommend overclocking these cpu’s because of TEMPS.

So far my experience with the 14900k hasn’t been too bad. Setting the power limit to intels default in bios is standard if you want good thermals. Undervolting seems underwhelming. Able to - offset 0.050 but don’t really notice an improvement to temps, just lower score in cinebench. If I could do it over I would get the 14700k as performance is negligible and would save an extra $100. Overall, great cpu. Getting 35-40 celsius at idle, 55-75 under load with a kraken 360 aio, if you go with the kraken, get the elite only if you’ll view your cpu from an angle. As the small square display contrasts the black outline. Looking at it straight on is uniformed
