I tried the year, but when the year was up it just charged me without asking if I wanted to. Windows defender is plenty, as long as you don’t click on anything you don’t know about you’ll be okay. From my experience Macs don’t get viruses and the like as easy as PCs.

I renewed the version that wasn't working for me, and then had to purchase one that did. Thanks to Best Buy for helping to cancel out the charges for the renewal that didn't work for me.

The one thing I didn’t like was my credit card was charged a renewal fee even though I never loaded the program. Best Buy was good at resolving the issue
