webfoot is great but make sure geek squads tech support helps you with the install. once you do that there won't be any issues.

I got this 4 free when I got my laptop from Best Buy. Then after the trial was over I had to purchase it to keep it. It was ok but then my laptop wouldn't update. I lost the webroot and I was still having to pay for it. Had to do a master reset on my laptop and then I realized I really don't need or use the antivirus so I finally cancel it after paying for it all this time without needing it. Not sure what it did to my laptop but I ended up cancelling the subscription.

I've been using Webroot on the advice of Consumer Reports several years ago. It is effective and doesn't bog down your system!

I had forgotten that I had Webroot on my computer and so I got another security system. How do I take the other one off and reinstall Webroot?

I only gave it four stars because I don't know enough about how everything works together to provide my security so there may be other options. This has worked for us and we are happy with the purchase.

I thought this would keep pop ups from popping up on my computer but all of a sudden I have quite a few that are constantly on my computer

I bought Webroot in 2017 with my laptop because it was easy and convenient at the time. There are minor inconveniences, and major inconveniences: Minor: When I start my computer up, and it decides I need a scan, it starts the scan before I can say no. The scan only takes a few minutes. The automatic scans don't catch everything. I bought four copies and put it on my son's computer. He was complaining that his computer was slow and had been acting funny for a week. The last automatic scan was that morning and had found 0 threats. I manually scanned, and found 45 threats, after which the computer acted normally again. After the auto-scan, the results pop up through whatever you're doing. The biggest result is that it sometimes crashes the game I'm in, hard enough that a restart is required. Usually the game is just minimized. Major: After being on my laptop for a year and a half, it started opening up multiple instances of itself. When I tried to end them with Task Manager, it said I didn't have access. I am the only user, with administrator access. The multiple instances bogged down my computer so much it was unusable. It took roughly two hours to uninstall Webroot, after which my lap top could be used again. I have four licenses to Webroot. I now only have two computers using them. I can't re-download Webroot, because their website wants me to log in. The only way to reset the password is to answer a case sensitive question. It won't accept my answer, no matter how I write it. My biggest worry now is that I won't be able to cancel the auto-renew. On the other hand, it does seem to be able to find viruses and the like. Webroot is, unfortunately, it's own worst enemy.
