I have used Turbotax for years

It works well for me, as my return is pretty simple. I usually file the federal online and the state with paper because my state charges for online filing.

S/W for the average person

I've been filing my own returns since the 80's, and this application was more effort than just scanning the new tax code. Its just ok, not an earth shattering application, designed for those that need help and are not familiar with filling out tax forms. Big plus 5 free e-files with fed and state returns, makes up for the cost.

Great Predictable software

A few things arent intuitive as i would like but they are minor. There are references to IRS questions and explanations which makes the questions TT cant answer easily obtainable. Will probably continue to use TT for years to come.

Purchased for my mother

I was told that it came with a download code because her MacBook Air does not have an optical drive, nor does she have an external. I found a post in the other reviews on this page to call TurboTax to push the download through after creating an online account. She was able to get the download and did not need to purchase an external optical drive to get the job done.
