The creators of TurboTax seem bent on destroying what was orriginally a very easy way to prepare your income tax. However as they continue to attempt to make it all incompassing they are destroying the very thing they had created.

This product is an excellent tool for doing taxes. I do feel after being a loyal customer since day one the company made changes without consideration to the customer. Next year I will be looking at different compatible products.

I bought this Turbo Tax Delux CD in November hoping to learn about the new medical exemption rules however, Turbo Tax did not have anything downloaded on the disc about this subject. I had to wait until the week of Christmas when Turbo Tax finally let me download the medical updates online. If I would have known they didn't have the medical stuff in November, I would have waited until the software went on sale later in the year. Oh well, it works fine and allows me to get a jump on inputting my information.

I've always been a very strong advocate of Turbo Tax. I've persuaded just about everyone I know, to start using it. This yeat, I downloaded the files from the DVD and immediately started receiving error messages. The software will not update. I've gone online to the Turbo Tax support site and combed through the hundreds of other complaints that are identical to mine. I tried each and every one of the solutions provided by Turbo Tax's Technical Support team. This support team is quite unqualified for the tasks at hand. They obviously have a generic manual they are using, to respond to the online support requests because they are even coming close to getting some of the error messages right. It took me 2 days to change settings on my computer until I could even log on! This is ridiculous!! Once I did finally log on, without multiple errors, I couldn't update the software. There are updates online every few days and I have not been able to update even one! I submitted a help ticket on the support site and the technical staff responded to me with a very generic item list of "How to update the software". Really? What a joke!! Especially after, I provided a very specific, detailed question to them...and they turn around and treat me like I'm 5 years old. I could run circles around half of them and I'm not even in the IT business. Intuit, "Shape up or ship out"!!

Had trouble sending in tax forms electronics due to error at IRS. Was forced to send in tax forms through mail. Would have given another star if I could have sent in tax forms electronicly.

The program is very easy to use and also thorough, however I had a few 1099's for my music and the program kept trying to force me to buy the "business" edition, which is ridiculous as I was not claiming any business expenses, etc. Also, while you can perform several returns with the program, eFiling state refunds cost and additional 20 dollars each. The hidden fees are unethical in my opinion and I will not be purchasing Turbo Tax ever again.

I needed to upgrade to Premier to make up for some of the features that were removed from the Deluxe version. However, Turbotax was quite gracious about it, and I am satisfied.

Good interface. Taxes are hard enough already. So having the same appearance and feel is great. They keep sending me apologies via email. Not sure why.

Easy tax preparation software even for beginners, easy to submit taxes to both IRS and state.

Would not allow you to use credit card for 19.99--- instead took 34.99 from refund automatically.
