    Is exactly what it says

Everybody is complaining about them removing schedules. Well they have exactly the schedules you need in it to do deductions and for homeowners. That is the reason why they have the next step that says rental properties. that is where you get your schedules for that. then the step after that is for business owners. Yes the price has went up but tell me something out there that has not went up in the last few years. These are people that want everything for nothing. If you own rental properties and a business it still wont be this cheap for an accountant to do your taxes. Trust me I know as I am a former business owner. I love this product and will recommend it to everybody. Its still cheaper than a tax service.

I have used TurboTax Deluxe for many years now. It is easy to use, and will bring in pertinent info from last year's return into the return for this tax year if you use the same computer. If you are using a new computer, it walks you thru all the questions that might pertain, and asks follow-up questions depending upon your answers. For the average homeowner with W-2's, a mortgage, property taxes, itemized deductions, and interest income, this software covers it all.

Great Software for doing taxes, saves having to pay someone for doing your taxes or filling out the forms by hand. I would have given it 5 stars if the price wouldn't be going up every year.

I was a little disappointed this year about the changes made to the Deluxe software. I did get an email immediately after purchase and very quickly received a partial refund of money spent to upgrade. I have tried all tax software and I feel that TurboTax is less confusing than the others. I have however, found some glitches in the programs over the years. They have seemed to correct them from season to season. But, all in all, I really like this software.

As always with Intuit product, really easy to use. Interfaces with investment companies well if you have stocks. Tax filing was easy and accepted by the IRS within a few hours.

I have been using Turbo Tax for 10+ years. I do my own taxes every year and the software is so easy to use. The software design is similar year after year so it is easy to navigate.

Eliminated Features from prior years' software

I've used Turbo Tax for many years, and the Deluxe version has always met my needs. After purchasing the 2014 Deluxe Version, I learned that the simple Schedule C, and Schedule D were no longer included. I returned the software to BB, and purchased H&R Block Deluxe, though not as easy to use as TT, it did include the simple Schedule C and D that I use, and it was cheaper. I'm going to contact Turbo Tax, and urge others that are irked by the elimination of the Deluxe features to do the same. Maybe they will include it again in 2015 if they get enough feedback. Consumers shouldn't have to spend an additional 60% for features that prior year's software included.

Deluxe TurboTax is NOT what it was last year

Intuit has change the Deluxe software. Intuit has taken out functionality that ALL previous versions of Deluxe offered. IF you need to do even a simple Sch C or Sch D forms you will NOT...repeat NOT be able to e-file these forms with the Deluxe TT for 2014. I would not recommend this version for Sch c or Sch D filers. How ever H & R Block Deluxe tax software WILL do these Sch forms AND this software is cheaper than Intuit programs. It will also import all TurboTax info just fine. Take a look for yourself.

Buyer beware... Customer hostle changes this year

Turbo tax is slowly removing features and trying to steer people towards the more expensce versions. In the name of "compatibility" between the download and CD versions they REMOVED functionality from the CD versions that did not exist on the online versions. Why purposely cripple your software? Why not add those features to the online versions? The answer of course is that by removing features that deal with Schdule C and schedules for people with investments you can make more money by pushing them to higher cost versions. As if charging us $50/year wasn't enough already? This is the continuation of a pattern they started a cpuple of years ago when they tried to limit the number of federal returns you could complete with the software. People complained then when they couldn't do Grandmas return or their high school kids returns, and intuit backed down. Now here they go again. They are even issuing $25 refunds for people why have to buy the more expensive versions and used deluxe last year. Of course that is just for this year. Next year we are going to have to go all thru this again. It's a good thing for them that there is no good alternative because as soon as there is, people are going to leave Intuit in droves.

    Switched to H&R Block

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I'm another user of TurboTax for 19 years who decided to try H&R Block Deluxe after reading that Intuit removed Schedule C and D from it's Deluxe version this year. Schedule D is only available in Premier version and Schedule C only in the VERY pricey Home & Business version. Although H&R Block's interview format and overall user interface is not quite as good as TurboTax, I had no problem making the switch. My 2013 TurboTax file imported easily into H&R Block, which I'm sure is thrilled to see Intuit shoot themselves in the foot like this. Really quite incredible that they'd do so... just another chapter in a long history of Intuit "what were they thinking?" moments.

Another fee to complicate my life

For over 20 years I have used Turbo Tax and for many of those years I have sworn it would be my last. I have found Intuit to be very intrusive and annoying with their marketing. It seems like they always tried to email me offers to purchase their product for more than I could buy it at Costco. Additionally, taxes are something I don't like to think about all year so I do not want them sending me offers and emails all year. I have been aware of free services for several years but did not make the change out of convenience and fear of change. On-the-other-hand, I almost had a heart attack last night after I had spent considerable time doing my taxes and I received a message that the program I was using was no longer capable of doing my very simple tax return. They were charging me 30 dollars more to upgrade to a new version. Certainly they didn't tell me that when I paid my annual 50 dollars for the same product I had always used. Once again they were trying to gouge me. Every year I felt it was a little excessive when they charged me 25-30 dollars extra to download another state's form so I could do my mother's taxes. I thought it a little excessive when I paid around 25 dollars each to file my state return and my mother's. This year's added fee was just too much. In the entire tax year (2014) I only traded one stock, one time. I bought 100 shares at a certain price and I sold 100 shares at a certain price. Not rocket science. I know when I bought it, what price I paid for it, and when I sold it. They seriously want to charge me 30 dollars for that simplistic transaction? The truth is the 30 dollars is not an issue. The issue is that they want me to download and install an entire new program for this one tiny transaction, knowing full well that if I download it I will spend an additional hour or two answering even more stupid, unrelated questions about my financial planning and investing that I have no desire or need to answer. There are years when I have had very complex tax returns and there are years like this year where they are amazingly simple. I have one income, one mortgage, no interest income, very little investment income, and very few deductions. I should be able to do this return on a cocktail napkin, but with Turbo Tax it is a very long arduous task of downloading specific versions and asking a million questions that have nothing to do with me as an individual. And now they want to make it even more detailed and complicated? TaxAct is free, as far as I know, and an article I found on Google ranked it as the second most popular tax program. Articles I read also said HR Block is offering their program free to anyone who switches from Turbo Tax. I guess it is time to make the change. I refuse to pay them 30 dollars to complicate my life. They should be paying me for the distress they have already caused me. I hate returning things, but I feel I will be going back to Costco and telling them the program did not work and asking for my money back.

You have to pay $30 more to do a Schedule D this year - last year it was part of this version. Done with Turbo - switching to H&R block, which will import last year's Turbo data

    Removed Functionability

TurboTax Deluxe this year has removed the options to fill out a schedule C, D, E, or F. You'll have to upgrade to Premier for $30 to get SOME of those but if you have more than $100 in expenses for your schedule C, you'll have to upgrade AGAIN to their Home & Business software for $100. Save yourself the hassle and get H&R Block Deluxe for $20-30 and have all of the forms you could need or use TaxAct online.

    Deluxe no more

I have been a turbotax lover for over 14 years. I wait until it becomes available in the stores and normally have it installed in early December. I always used Deluxe because it always covered what I needed. Schedule A, B, D and sometimes C EZ. This year, after installing I discovered C And D are no longer part of Deluxe. That does not sound very Deluxe. Now I am offered the option of upgrading online for $30 to Premier. I want a CD. If I had wanted to upload turbotax, I could have done that for less earlier. I am hoping I will be able to throw myself on the mercy of Best Buy and allow me to exchange my open box for a premier but it's against their policy and I don't hold out much hope. Bottom line, READ THE BACK OF THE BOX VERY CAREFULLY AND if in doubt, check the Turbo tax site before buying this year.

    Not Deluxe Any More - Missing C, D & E Forms

Used this product for ever (Since TurboTax first came out) ... But this year they have removed support for forms C, D & E. Now you must upgrade ($30), or buy the Premier ($89) version from the start. The basic version covers most things found here. so buy the basic or premier. Skip this downgraded product.

    WARNING: Deluxe version has changed

I've used TurboTax Deluxe for years but I had to upgrade to Premier this year after I bought the Deluxe. TurboTax says in an email that the change, " includes removing Schedules C, D, E and F from TurboTax Deluxe." For me, I still needed to report gains and losses from stocks held in a trust and reported on Schedule k-1. I think the change applies to any stock transaction. Wish I'd know before I had to buy the upgrade for $30.
