We've used it for years, but there's some things it won't guide you on. For us, we missed out on the major deduction for our kids in college for three years. We refiled and got our money back, but no thanks to Turbo Tax. We were audited by the state of NJ and needed our tax return from five years ago and couldn't find our paper copy or the CD: out of luck- they don't keep older versions. We had to recreate the return from scratch. Our son who is in the military used it for his New Jersey return was given the absolutely wrong directions on Turbo Tax, and had to file an amended return to get his full refund. He had to visit the NJ Department of Treasury for the very simple instructions. So, note to file, even if you don't earn a lot of money, you're going to have to check out some stuff on your own. And don't ever lose the CD!!! But still beats going to an accountant at our price point.
