~ Invasion of the Body Snatchers in 4K UHD! ~

Wow, this 4K transfer and movie looks stunning now. For 1978, I can't get over how good it looks in UHD. Sound is also quite good, considering. IT is one of those ALIEN invasion movies and people start to notice sudden changes in each other in one local area of San Francisco. A group of close friends who work and live nearby become the targets of those that have "turned" into virtual clones of themselves. The duplicates have no emotions, not even a flinch. So, the close knit group must now try and survive to get out of the City by any means possible! Nice job KINO LORBER once again! Movie comes with nice slipcover so get it soon. I would recommend if you are a horror Sci-Fi fan. All special features are here from previous editions that I can tell.

    Classy, spooky 1970s horror remake

Phillip Kaufman's Invasion of the Body Snatchers has got to be one of the finest remakes ever created, especially in the sci-fi/horror genre. This is one classy sci-fi paranoia thriller. The script is intelligent and well written, the directing captures the paranoia of the film wonderfully, the ensemble cast members seem to fit their roles perfectly, and the special effects are way ahead of their time and still quite startling to this day. Unfortunately, with this DVD release MGM continues their string of somewhat disappointing 2-Disc Special Editions. When a Special Edition is spread over 2 discs, I tend to expect a load of special features, which is usually what I get from most studios. However, virtually all of MGMs 2-Disc Special Editions have a quantity of extras that could easily fit on one disc. I suppose if their releases were only one disc I wouldn't respond as negatively because the quantity of extras would seem appropriate. Quantity aside, the quality of what we have here is pretty good. The only elements that get terribly short changed are the groundbreaking special effects, which are all but ignored save for the opening title sequence. The anamorphic transfer is also much better than the previous non-anamorphic DVD release. Much more detail and much less grain, so that was a pleasure to find. Overall, this film is a classic that stands proudly right alongside the original, and it should definitely be seen by any true sci-fi/horror fan. The DVD release leaves a bit to be desired in the extras department, but what's there is good. Definitely worth checking out!

Keifer Sutterland was Amazing in this movie. His deep voice just added an extra taste to a classic remake. It was filmed in San Francisco. Comparing the old city from its present look was a treat. It was a very goog movie.

This is one of my favorite sci fi movies, and I prefer over the original 50's version. It's got a great element of horror to it, and an ending that will send chills down your spine!

Scifi/horror classic, and one of the best remakes of all time. Scream Factory, as usual, loads the blu ray with great features.

This was my first exposure to a plot twist as an adolescent. It was a good movie in its time.
