Great retro look and many features. Enjoy streaming from my phone and listening to the radio while working from home. Bouns is that it has a rechargeable battery for travel and listening anywhere.

Not bad for what it is. It does what it says it will do. The sound from it is sub par but playing your cds you made from a cassette sound fine on a decent system. Nice that it has a two battery system as well as DC. Nice little machine for the money.

I was at Best Buy looking for a lanai radio for my wife who's not a modern gadget person (WIFI or computers) and saw the Retro Boombox on display, so I purchased it and it's worked out very well for her.

This is so cool. AM/FM radio , cassette tape player , etc. WOW - here's the kicker - to be able to record your tracks from cassette to USB. A wonderful option for the old school audience who savior those memories from yesteryear.......

My favorite item I've bought from best buy in a while. Just keep your eye on the deck since it doesn't stop rewinding after it has completely rewound, it makes this weird jamming up sound.

    MP3 converting useless

If your main goal was to transfer your cassettes to mp3, or record something from bluetooth to mp3 via the Flash Drive or SD inputs, don't bother with this piece of junk. Each MP3 I've recorded, whether it's from cassette, bluetooth, or the radio, plays back like it's in slow motion. It's possible I may have a defective unit, but I really don't think it's the case. I believe it's just a boombox that tries to be a jack of all trades, but a master of none. If your only goal is to listen to cassettes, then this if for you, but not at the price the're asking unless you get it on deal of the day. I'd give this zero stars if I could. I'm just upset I didn't know this before my 15 day return period was over so I could get my money back.

Poor Audio Quality, Poor Tuner, Mediocre Build

The sound quality is very poor, not remotely comparable to an inexpensive name-brand boombox from today or the golden era. It is extremely tinny and harsh. The tuner is exceptionally poor. There is virtually no perceivable stereo separation when tuning in an FM station in stereo that is broadcasting a stereo source. When you flip the switch between mono and stereo, it is virtually impossible to discern a difference, and I have an excellent earr. This is true even when the stereo tuning light is lit and the received signal is strong. And, the FM sensitivity/selectivity is very poor. Plus, it is really hard to tune stations in, the control is so touchy, you have to constantly rock the knob back and forth ever so slightly. It feels like the tuning knob is connected directly to the variable tuning capacitor without pulleys or gear reduction. Not saying that is exactly how it is built, don't know, but that is how it feels and behaves. The AM reception is very bad. And, for all practical purposes, you can only use AM with battery, NOT with wall power. That is because, when you plug the wall power cord in, the battery is charging, and the charging circuit gives off so much interference all you hear is that noise from the speakers in AM mode. Remove the power cord and the horrendous interference goes away. Significant design flaw. The build quality isn't great either - the multi-position switches on top feel flimsy like they will break easy, but the build quality isn't the worst I've seen - it is a notch up from some of the lowest-end Chinese retro boomboxes. Bluetooth sound quality is better than FM or cassette. Cannot recommend even at the sale price.

This was a Christmas gift for a teenager who still uses it almost daily and we're now in July. It's definitely not audiophile material, but does sound pretty good for what it is.

My daughter loves it, she not to long ago bought a Walkman and when she got this she was double excited. The sound is not as crisp as a bluetooth on it's on but when she hooked up her speaker to it the sound is better.

This is a very fun 80's retro boombox with the added bonus functionality of digitizing cassettes to MP3's. I had several homemade cassettes that I easily converted to MP3's for long-term archiving. Great find!

Be still, my Child-of-the-80s heart. Boomboxes are back. ION has created a boombox quite reminiscent of the radios of my youth. This is both good AND bad. The first thing I noticed about this unit is that it’s HEAVY. Oh, my goodness. Boomboxes in the 80s were super heavy and while portable, it wasn’t the easiest to take with you. I would have thought that the technology would have improved as such as to make the unit lighter. The boombox design makes it look like it came from the 20th Century vs. the 21st. An analog AM/FM radio with antenna (why could it not have been made digital?). A flipper that changes mode from tape to aux to radio to Bluetooth. Choices of mono, stereo, and bass boost. Basic base and treble dials. Some features have been added as welcome updates. You have an Aux jack, as well as a USB port and microSD card slot. You can also use the tape deck to convert old tapes to digital. So, that mixtape you made your crush in high school? You can save it here. It does charge up so you can use it cordless, but if you REALLY want to go retro, you can use six D batteries (so it can be even HEAVIER). The Bluetooth was super easy to pair with my phone. The sound is…meh. It’s good enough for picnics or beach days, but maybe not for your rave. The level meters hardly moved while using the radio. Speaking of radio, the reception was good. I didn’t need to raise the antenna to receive most of the stations in my area. The only real frustration I had was that I was getting interference through the speakers. The room was full of other electronics, but then again, so is the rest of my house. The instructions say to use it in open areas to reduce the interference, but that’s NOT where I’d use it the most. Who wants to buy a radio JUST to use outside? I love the ION retro products, and this is no exception. It’s mainly for nostalgia, though. This is not a high-end unit; if you are an audiophile, you probably won’t be happy. For me, it’s fun.

I love the looks, the build quality is top notch. It reminds me of my very first radio that my grandpa bought me back in 1985. That's a good thing, and also a bad thing. I love all the features, It's neat that it really plays cassettes, but will also play over blu tooth, and from a memory card or thumb drive. It also plays really loudly, there is plenty of volume to turn it up and jam, even in a large warehouse. The only issues that I have are the tuner section doesn't tune in stations as well as it should, there is a small amount of static that comes in with even the strongest radio stations. The other issue is distortion of the sound when played at levels above 3 or 4 with the bass knob turned up,

The device works ok. I like it but it’s a little underpowered. The form factors are a wee bit too small I wish it was big as the old school Bi Phonic JVC with EQ and recording levels and such.
