Sounds terrible
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had seen a couple of reviews online and they mentioned the sound was good. I bought this mainly to play some cassettes I have. This is my second attempt to find something decent to play them. Terrible. The Bluetooth function is meh, the audio isn’t the best either (better than the cassette definitely). Look elsewhere.

A Fairly Decent Listening Experience!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a person who LOVES the 80’s music era, I was elated to review this item! I can vividly recall when boom boxes were the “it” thing that everybody owned or knew someone who owned one. Upon unboxing this item, it kind of had a nostalgic retro look to it and a cheap look to it as well. The silver coating of paint looks like a cheap-shellacked finish in my opinion. *In sincere anticipation of this unit’s performance, I copied my 300 plus songs from Dropbox to a flash drive in hopes of listening to my music which is a mixture of 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s music with the 80’s music being dominant because hands down, I feel that was the best era of music! The directions to play the music was pretty straight forward as I got connected without any problems after syncing my Bluetooth. However, while amidst playing of my songs, the Bluetooth would cut out. Firstly, I dismissed it as a mishap; however, it happened repeatedly during the playing of my songs via USB drive. *Playing of the AM/FM radio was a great experience as the communications were clear and concise. I tuned into my favorite station, 96.5 FM which afforded me a great listening experience. *I synced my cell phone to the Boom Box player via Bluetooth to listen to my 300 plus songs as well. However, it was a very disappointing experience as the music played rather faintly and quietly as there wasn’t any bass at all. After turning the volume up to maximum level, I still did not achieve a rich sound experience. Overall, I am leaning towards a ‘mixed-bag’ experience with this device as it looks the part of a nostalgia-retro device; however, it falls short in performance categories that should be robust such as Bluetooth and bass. I truly love the concept of this boom box as it affords a user several usage options such as Bluetooth capabilities, cassette tapes, AM/FM radio, Mp3, USB, and SD card. However, the speakers aren’t the best and the cutting out I experienced while listening to my songs via USB flash disk left a not so good taste in my mouth, but as aforementioned there are some strong points to this unit such as a great AM/FM experience which is one of the primary reasons I selected this device.

Buyer beware
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to return the 1st one because the tape deck didn’t work. Now the left speaker quit working and I can’t return because of Best Buy policys. This thing is a piece of junk and I don’t recommend anyone buying it. It’s so frustrating to spend hard earned $ only to have it crap out in 2 months!

It's ok
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decent boombox with lots of inputs: am/fm, cassette, usb, Bluetooth, micro sd. Build quality could be better, switches and buttons feel a little cheap. Rechargeable battery a definite plus. Sound quality not great but not really bad. Not a lot of bass, the bass boost just adds distortion. Gets pretty loud though. Ok for casual use but if you want great sound you may want to look elsewhere.

Disappointed in the Boom Box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The radio will not lock in on a frequency very well. Once the station is selected, the volume will explode up very loudly and then settle down to practically nothing. The frequency reproduction after recording onto tape is also poor. No, I am not satisfied with this purchase at all.

Not a real boombox
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks good from far, but its far from good. It takes about 50% volume to slightly move the VU meters then it sounds like loud mud. Anything past 30% volume is a garbled mess. I wanted this to be good it just isn't.

A poor choice - not what I expected
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was bad choice. I wanted an MP3 player for my shelf; this one did not "remember" where it had stopped, and also had very poor quality. I traded it in (the same day) for a decent Sony mp3 shelf player.

Poor, Poor
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I bought it in the file that Best Buy published, it said it had a lithium battery, that is to say rechargeable, low, many features, the truth does not have any of them is an expensive and useless system, by half of the dollars you can get an equal or even higher radio system.

Not Bad For A Retro $140 Boombox
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this retro 80s silver boombox for $75 it wasn’t bad and a really good deal!! It’s perfect for parties, friends’ get together, and for just listening to music at your place. This is a Bluetooth boombox you can play music wirelessly from your phones. It has the options for AUX cables too and plays/reads SD cards, USBs, there’s a lot of ways to play music in it. It plays discs and tapes too. I got it mostly because of the look obviously but I’m glad it has a lot of options. The sound quality isn’t that bad and not really good but there’s other better brands with way better sound quality if you’re just looking for that

Great retro boombox!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ION Audio boombox is a wonderful Bluetooth speaker that takes you back. While it has a tape deck, am/fm radio controlled by a dial and a cool telescoping antennae, you still get the convenience of Bluetooth. Additionally, you can playback music using an SD card or USB. If you are thinking of picking this up make sure it is purely for the nostalgia and not the sound. This speaker will take you back but it wont be blowing you away with quality sound and that's okay.
