This one actually works quite well. It clamps onto the vent fins tightly and holds the phone. Regrettably, my phone is at the maximum size this will take, so it does not release my phone at the touch of a button like it is supposed to do. I have to pull the phone out. The button will work with a smaller phone.

My new car has a soft textured dash, so my new car needed something different. Tried this for a whole month. I tried the air vent AND the flush mount. The flush mount adhesive became detached from the plastic mount after a few weeks, and the air vent clip kept sliding off. As for the flush mount, a total disappointment. It started popping off a few times and I tried to re-stick it - eventually it all just came off. Luckily the adhesive just rolled off and didn't leave too much glue on my car - though maybe that says something about why I had the issue? It was strange though that the mount disconnected from the glue, not that the glue disconnected from my car. It just couldn't handle the motion of a car moving around and the weight of a phone and the mount, I suppose. Now I'm stuck with a bouncy CD mount.
