Bad product all around. The clip does not stay in the ac vent at all stable.

If you have a phone that can charge wothout a cord this won’t work.

Highly Functional - iOttie - iTap Magnetic Car Vent Mount Holder The 1st thing that struck me with this product is the ease of usage; you remove it from the package in less than 2minutes, its installed and working. It looks durable & study. Another quality of this product is that it provides unhindered accessibility to the phone, the eye level due to the location means you sight is not off the road, in essence it ensures the security of the driver and the passengers. It’s very simple, sizeable not bulky or intrusive. The phone rests well on it as the magnetic strength is remarkably strong. The manufacturers gave me this product to test and provide unbiased assessment, it works!!!

Please note that I agreed to review this product in exchange for being sent it as a sample. Prior to this review, I already owned an iOttie Easy One Touch 2 Mount, easily the best the car phone mount that I have owned (and, I have owned several). At first, I thought perhaps I wouldn't do the review, as I'm satisfied with the iOttie mount I already have. But then, I realized that my wife doesn't have a car mount for her iPhone 4, so here is my review. The big picture - if you have a phone and drive a car - YOU NEED A MOUNT. What mount to buy? There are plenty of choices, including many cheap mounts available. I'm a cheapskate, and I've tried many of them. With this type of device, I've come to the conclusion that you get what you pay for. There are some items that you can buy cheap and get away with, because you don't use them too much. But, for a car phone mount, used every day, kids tugging on it, etc. my feeling is that you want to get a good one if you can afford it. The quality of the iOttie magnetic mount is excellent. The two pronged grip which holds the mount to your vent (or other attachment point) is very strong and clamps firmly. Also, the magnet is quite strong. It holds the iPhone 4 firmly in place while driving. No noticeable vibration. Also, iOttie's customer service is excellent. I know this because I have purchased 2 iOttie mounts previously, the first of which I had to return because it didn't work in my vehicle. The company was very responsive and accommodating with the return process. Overall, as compared with the iOttie Easy Touch 2 mount that I already have, I would say that this mount is nearly as good. The iTap magnetic is high quality, and very easy to use. The hardest part is getting the phone out of your pocket after you've already sat down! And, by itself, the mount that attaches to the vent is, to me, far better looking than the Easy Touch 2. It is discreet, and slick looking unlike its oversized brother. One con, however, is that in order to use the iTap Magnetic, you have to install the metal pads to the phone. Depending on how this is done, the resulting look can be less than desirable. One tip for those who might mount it to a vent - You might be inclined to mount the phone centrally on the vent, like I did when mounting to our Subaru Outback vent. When I did so, the vent flopped immediately down due to the weight of the phone. If this happens to you, choose to attach the mount instead lower on the vent, so that when it does flop down it is already near the bottom of its travel. I've used magnetic clips previously (freebies from conferences) and this is the best one of all. It held my iPhone 6 Plus with a case easily. The grip and magnet is really strong. You also want to make sure your car vents can handle this. If not, order the dashboard product. I have iOttie products in all 3 of my cars and have been a satisfied customer for the past 3 years. This magnetic clip will hold my wife's iPhone when she is riding with me while I use my iOttie Easy One Touch 2.

I have the iOttie XL one touch that I have been using for the past 3 years. Using the iOttie - iTap Magnetic is a good alternative to not having the bulky XL model. It attaches with easy to any vent in my car. The magnets are very strong. It holds my phone while it is plugged in in perfect place so I can keep my eyes on the road. The only complaint I have is the wait tends to lower the vents a bit. My Note 5 is a little heavy. Overall I will keep using the iOttie - iTap Magnetic over the XL model to remove bulk for the dash. I have been using this magnetic mount for the past week with my iPhone 7 Plus and have enjoyed it versus my previous "clamp" style mount. The magnet is very strong, I did not have any issues with the phone falling off even when I hit hard bumps. Setting up the magnets took less than a minute. The clip also mounts securely to the air vent and can easily be moved into another car. This is an elegant, convenient solution to having a quality mobile phone mount.

In the past I've avoided mount such as this one. I thought that the metal plate that attaches to the phone case was obtrusive. However, iOttie provides two types of plates - one that is attached to the inside of the case, and one that attaches to the outside. I chose the external one and I barely notice it's there. Now that I got past that issue, attaching it to the actual mount is super simple. I prefer the vent mount because it's out of the way and easy to reach. The magnet that comes with this securely attaches the phone and it won't come loose no matter what. I highly recommend this mount for those that want a vent style mount.

After using this mount for a month now, I feel that I have a good feel on the pros and cons of it. The mount itself is pretty small, Id say the surface of the magnetic part is in between the size of a quarter and a half dollar. It is black and rathe inconspicuous when you attach it to your car vent, In the package, it comes with two different options of magnet attachments: a larger metal slab that you can insert inside your phone case, or a small round one that can be attached to the outside of your phone/phone case. I opted for the larger slab inside my phone case. Surprisingly, the magnet was very strong and kept a pretty good hold on my phone and I have a iphone 6 plus! Sometimes when I make sharp turns, it does rotate and dangle on its side until I flip in upright again, but all in all it is a mount that I would definitely recommend for those who don't want a large ugly phone mount on their car.

I have had an iOttie case for years now. I really like the strength of the magnet and the clip mechanism by which it connects to your vent. My particular case is too thick and has a slight rounding to the back so the metal disk had to be attached directly to the phone. I would like a stronger adhesive.it's also spring time and I'm not sure how the adhesive would hold up in a much hotter car.it does hold the phone securely and people I've talked to while using it could not hear any vibration and said the phone sounded good.

I was looking for a sturdy vent mount that would block the vent too much and would hold strong to it and this mount definitely delivers. Very easy to install and you can move it to any vent pretty much on the fly. I love the multiple layered magnet system too because I like to have a case on my phone. If you are looking for a good vent mount, look no further!

iTap Magnetic Air Vent Car Mount is excellent small mount for using without case or with thin case. Installation is very easy in every car and it is very easy to transfer it from car to car (I am travelling a lot, so tried it in several cars already). In the case you have thinner case - follow the instruction and use it with outer plate.

Finally, unobtrusive magnetic phone holder by iOttie that feels and looks as solid as it actually holds on to a phone. I have Moto Z Play with Speck Clear Candyshell case on it, so the weight is substantial when combined together. This magnetic holder have no issues holding up the phone while driving, even on rough road. There is lots of room to adjust phone's angle horizontally or tilt vertically . The phone also can be placed horizontally, vertically and anything in between. I own other mounts from iOttie, and they always worked great and reliably, but the part that holds the phone was always on my way, even when phone wasn't in it. With this magnetic holder, you can barely notice it when phone is removed. And when phone is in it, you can't see it at all. Very simple and effective design. Just what a driver needs.
