Customers are saying
Customers highly value the Velox 7.5W Wireless Charging Air Vent Mount with MagSafe for its reliable wireless charging and strong magnetic hold, which keeps their phones secure and charging effectively. The ease of use and compatibility with various phone models are also frequently praised. While some found the size or price to be a drawback, the positive feedback on the secure hold, charging capabilities, and convenient design outweighs these concerns.

Works with Quirks
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Product feels very substantial and well built. Power cord is attached and cannot be removed. Comes with a USB car cigarette lighter power adapter to power the wireless charging capability. The mount to my car (2022 Volvo XC90 with vertical thin air vents) is not the best and definitely moves around. The holder connection (hard rubbed end w 4 slots) seems large for my air vent and does not therefore, go in far enough for a secure connection. However, it does seem to hold be it shaky and does move around. I tried charging my iPh13 Pro Max which is a large heavy phone with magsafe case. Phone held well to holder and started charging immediately. Phone magnetic connection was strong and sturdy. I was disappointed how slowly the phone seemed to charge, but the wireless charger is only 7.5watts which is like a slow top up charge. I have not tried charging with a very low battery but I think it would take quite awhile to make any significant difference. Summary- charger is well made but the connection to the air vent does not work well with my car. I agree my car is quirky with regards the design of the vents. The wireless/ magsafe charging is slow but great for a top up or at least keep some trickle charge on your phone.

Useful for Some, Yet Mostly Redundant
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great many of the newer cars come equipped with a wireless charging pad area built in, along with a wide assortment of USB ports to plug in mobile devices, and those same cars usually have an onboard visual control display. Which kinda makes this type of device almost redundant. That said, as a phone mount, this iOttie Velox can be useful, particularly for people with older model cars wanting to use their phone as a GPS device. The mount does clip snugly onto the air vent, but once I'd placed my phone with MagSafe case upon it, the weight of the phone itself pulled the mount down and gave me the impression that my phone was not being held as safe and secure as I'd have liked. In addition, the mount also partially obstructed the air flow from the vent. Basically, positioning the iOttie Velox properly, is key. I live in Arizona, which gets hot, very hot during the summer season. Now since this phone charger mounts to the air vent, that presents both a 'Pro' and a 'Con.' The "Con" being that my mobile phone is exposed to direct sunlight while mounted, with the "Pro" being that cooling AC from the air vent blows directly onto my phone at the same time. Still, questionablty desirable, in my case. This iOttie Velox is well-made, though, and will no doubt fill a need for some. The clip can fit on both vertical or horizonal vent slats. The USB-C cable is plenty long enough, and there's even an included 12V adapter for your car's "cigarette lighter" port.

Great wireless charger!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The iOttie Velox 7.5W is a great option for charging you cellphone while in your vehicle. The build quality is really nice, and it feels like it will last a long time. In the box, you will get the charger itself with attached, and non-removable, power cable. Additionally, you will get a very nice-looking USB-C power adapter. Installation is super easy and should just take a couple minutes. There is enough cable to tuck it away if you so choose. Also, for anyone who is wondering, the part that physically attaches to the vent is made of a nice rubber/silicone so it will not scratch up your vents at all. I don’t really have any complaints about this wireless charger. I think it would have been beneficial to have the power cable removable and replaceable, but it really isn’t a big deal. Another issue I ran into, and this may be a bigger one, is that I didn’t have the proper case for my phone. The magnet would not engage due to the thicker plastic on my phone case. So, this is definitely something to keep in mind. Make sure your case is mag-safe compatible. Overall, it is a great product and I love how it brings my phone up to eye level all while charging at the same time. I highly recommend this if your looking for a wireless charging option for your vehicle.

Gets the job done
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing you notice out of the box is the build quality of the mount is very high. Nice sturdy aluminum construction for the base and super dense, tacky silicone rubberized grips for the vent. Very solid feeling with some heft, but not overly heavy. The power cable is built in to the bottom of the mount and cannot be removed, this is a big annoyance for me. Just make it USB-C so if I need to use it as just a phone holder mount without charging, I don’t have unused cord to deal with, but when I need it as a charger too, boom I can plug it in and go. It also only charges at 7.5W so while it can “technically” claim to be a fast charger, the iPhone will accept up to 15W via the MagSafe connection, so don’t expect this to charge your phone very fast if you need some juice in a hurry. This is more for constant drip charging when placed on the mount for long periods of time. The power cord is plenty long and is USB-C on the end, which plugs into the supplied USB-C car charger. You should have no problem reaching your outlet wherever you decide to mount it. The MagSafe connection was pretty strong without a case, using my iPhone 13 Pro Max. When using a case that says it’s MagSafe compatible but doesn’t have MagSafe built in, your mount strength is ok at best, prepare to pick up your phone from the floor of the car after any major bumps. Mileage of course varies by case style when MagSafe is built in. Some offer strong magnets, some not so strong. If you use a Ghostek case for example, super strong magnet and connection to the mount was awesome. Using something like a Nomad case, the connection was good but not great, so a lot of the real world use of your mount strength depends on your phone and if you use it with or without a case and what style of case it is. The overall footprint of the mount is very small, but you still end up covering one full vent, no way around that, but that’s expected with a mount like this. In the summer you have cool air blowing on the back of your phone so all is good, but in the winter, if you blast the heat while the phone is charging, I can only imagine the heat build up in the phone is going to be higher than normal, so in the winter I suggest to close the airflow to the vent being used for the mount. I used this mount in a RAM 1500 and a Honda CRV, and in both the mounts wanted to fall shut. The tension on the swivel back was pretty tight, and allows you to position the angle of the mount to a few degrees up or down/side to side when a phone in mounted, but the vents themselves didn’t want to support both the phone and the mount. And based on how your vents sit in your dash, you can expect more or less degree of travel positioning from the mount, that will vary by car. Overall the mount serves its purpose but doesn’t really offer anything new or exciting. It gets the job done while looking and feeling great, but trial and error is the only real way to ensure it will work for you in your car.

A bit of a paradox due to low strength of magnets
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using a different iOttie wireless car charger for a few years, the type that has motorized clamps that hold your phone in place. This new iOttie Velox charger was pretty exciting to me as it offered MagSafe capability for the latest iPhones, and did away with the (sometimes frustrating, and always noisy) motorized clamps. In the end, it's a bit of a paradox for me and I am unable to recommend it, unfortunately. First, the good: I like the vent clip design and that part holds very well in two different vehicles I've tested. At 7.5W, it's the fastest charging speed available since it's not "officially" a MagSafe charger (it's just MagSafe compatible, after all). The bad: The magnetic grip just isn't strong enough. The case I have on the 13 Pro Max is also advertised as MagSafe compatible, and not very thick either. But with that case on, the hold was not strong enough for me to trust with my phone. It falls off at the slightest bump. With the case off, the hold feels pretty strong -- except, I know that a few milimeters of silicone were enough to make it NOT hold, and I'm not willing to risk my phone dropping in the car without a case on it. Hence, the paradox. If you are the type to go caseless on your phone and have good damage coverage, this might be totally fine for you. For me, it was a dealbreaker.

The best MagSage car mount
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have bought both the "iOttie - Velox Magnetic Air Vent Mount for MagSafe Compatible Phones - Dark Blue" as well as this one and am very impressed. They both do exactly what they are supposed to and do it well. Build quality is also very good.

User beware is not a sturdy as some reviews sugge
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited to try this charger, as I previously had not had the best success with vejt chargera and I thought that having a phone that has magsafe charging capabilities would keep the phone more secure… I was wrong.. this charger is very sleek I love the color blue I love the matte finish and the texture. I also love the phone faux chrome detailing… however the purpose of a charger is to securely charge your phone and it does not do that. Let’s start with the fact that there’s no real sway to secure a global on the charger so when you do connect it your phone will move the slightest turn or movement with a car using maps tired and that really seals it for me is that.. The slightest bump on your phone disconnects. Imagine doing 25 or 35 neighborhood streets 55+ On the highway having to chase your phone that fell because the car hit a bump and and the phone went flying.. it’s dangerous and unsafe and not worth the hassle. I love how long does securely pitbull that it has a nice from grip, however not being able to secure the movement of the charger on the swivel and also having to worry about the phone moving or falling off because of a slight turn or bump it’s not worth it and it’s more of a hazard than convenience at that point
