I heard about the iOttie MagSafe Mount and decided that since I upgraded to the iPhone 14 Pro Max, I would need to upgrade my car mount as well. My previous car mount for my iPhone was attached to the air vents, having two clamps squeeze my phone securely. However, no matter how many times I reattached the mount to the vents, it was never truly ‘locked’ in. Randomly, the mount would fall forward, causing my phone to fall to the floor. The Velox Mount can be applied to your windshield or you can use the mount base and apply it to your dash or other cabin areas. MagSafe is NEEDED: If you’re using a case around your phone then make sure it’s a MagSafe case that can utilize the Velox Mount. Without a MagSafe case, your phone will not connect. Yes, the mount will accommodate a caseless iPhone (iPhone 12 and after). Is It Secure? Initially, I was hesitant in trusting a clampless mount. I place my iPhone 14 onto the mount and took it for a test drive. I am happy to say that the phone never fell. I made abrupt stops; I went over speed bumps and I even drove over a couple of potholes. My phone remained in place without shifting in the slightest. A bonus is that you can position the mount arm in pretty much any direction you want and it won’t compromise the strength of the mount. Closing: If this is your first MagSafe mount as it was for me then I truly recommend the iOttie Velox Mount.

This mounted charger is a charger that I would give as any gift to family or friends afar. One of the things that is great about this charger is that fact that it is a well made mount. I like the fact that is has a very sticky base and it stays put on the windshield or the dash board. It’s not bulky so it doesn’t take up a lot of space or obstruct your vision to the point where you can’t see objects or where you are going.. When you stick the phone on the base is stays put quite well. I thought that it would be a problem when I went to go and turn the corner that phone would not stay put, but it does. I would like this to have an actual mount to stick the phone into other that it just sticking to the magnet that is the only thing that I dislike about it otherwise it is a very functional piece of equipment. I like the swivel on the neck. You are able to adjust it to go up or down not so much side to side but you can adjust the base to do that. The adhesive is sticky enough for you to be able to reposition it to a new location. You won’t be disappointed with this device. It is a great tool.

Until now I’ve only had car charger mounts that physically latch onto the phone and you have to push a button to get them to release. These are a huge pain because they take two hands and you can adjust the mount out of place on accident etc. This is a perfect solution for this because you can easily mount the phone and dismount it thanks to the magnet in the case adhering to the phone mount. It also comes with an extra adhesive pad to apply to the dashboard to ensure the mount gets a secure latch and doesn’t fall off. It’s an extra plus for my car because I don’t have a Bluetooth radio and have to use an auxiliary port with the lightning dongle. This was a much cheaper alternative compared to a sound system upgrade. It’s a higher wattage charger so you get a lot of juice in a little bit of time. The cable is long enough to reach the left side of the steering wheel as well. It’s also convenient to have a USB C cigarette lighter adapter for other compatible accessories or chargers and you don’t lose the slot to a single device.

I love this dash mount. I’ve had several like this and they eventually come loose and the arms just sat and flop around, especially with the iPhone 14 Pro Max as it’s a very heavy device. This has been extremely sturdy while using. The suction is solid and doesn’t move once placed in the desired location. The arms stay in place and I have very little adjustments needed once I have put the arms in the desired location. It’s super simple to setup and you will be up and running in no time. Unboxing is a simple affair which I like as it’s not trying to be something other than a dash mount. Literally less than a minute and you’re ready to go. The magenta are strong too and hold my 14 Pro Max with no issues at all. I use this without a case and it’s not marked the back of my device at all. I have used it with a case and again it stays out but I will also say the case itself will make a big difference to the strength as not all MagSafe cases are the same when it comes to magnet strength Overall this is a solid option

The iOttie - Velox MagSafe Compatible Magnetic Wireless Charger is an unfortunate misstep by the normally outstanding product line of iOttie. MagSafe is a failed concept that puts both the phone peril and the user fighting to keep the phone attached. iOttie is one of the best magnetic phone holder producers having several variation and product to meet a user's needs... this is not one of them. I found this product to do only two things right... stick to the window which it does extremely well and wirelessly charge the phone. What it fails at is basically everything else. The limited range of motion/position of this product places the phone nearly 90 degree perpendicular to the floor, the dash, or your knee. The magnet works, but the phone (I use the iPhone 13 Pro Max) remains connected on smooth, even roads with no bumps, cracks, or hard stops - you are golden. If you are like most people, your roads will not be this perfect and you will find yourself trying to catch a dropping phone several times during your drive! PROS - iOttie name - Charges phones well CONS - MagSafe is terrible technology - Magnet will not hold phone unless the road is perfectly smooth - Knees or Dash will take the brunt of falling phones - Not ideal for drivers who like to stay hand-free!

I have a similar product that attaches to the air vent of my car. This is an improvement in the way it attaches. Build quality is good and it feels substantial, and well made. It comes with a disc so it can be attached to the car dash and then the bracket can be suctioned to it. The bracket can also be attached to the windshield, and the arm is adjustable. It even comes with a short extension so it adjusts the phone to be more in reach. The bracket has screw locks to keep it in position and these work well. The magnetic charger and holder for the phone works well, but a mag safe case is required to really keep it secured. I tried a iPhone with a case with no mag safe, and it held but not well when the car hit a bump. The wireless charger works, but its not the fastest, and while it does charge, it takes awhile, especially for a phone whose battery is really low. The charge cord is attached to the holder and the unit comes with a cigarette lighter adapter, or it can be plugged into a USB port directly.

It works well enough, just make sure you have a flat surface to stick it on wherever you want

The iottie Velox Magsafe Wireless Charger and Mount was honestly pretty disappointing to me. I used it for about a week when I gave up trying to use it. It's a good idea, just in my opinion poorly designed. The “Super Suction Cup” is fantastic and clings to surfaces incredibly well, even to the point where it is hard to get off, however, the magnetic mount itself felt very weak and even without a case I often found my phone falling off and struggling to stay on. I feel the addition of some supports for the side or bottom of the phone could do this justice. Every turn or slight bump in the road I dealt with my phone falling off the charger and possibly being damaged due to the fall. The ability to turn the head 360 degrees is a nice addition and the extra long charging cable means you can attach the wireless charger anywhere and still get good usage out of it. The charging cable is USB-C and if your car isn't compatible an additional 20 Volt Adapter is included as well. All around not a terrible gadget but a bit disappointing and I wouldn't personally see myself using or recommending this to anyone in the future.
