I love the cinematography and action scenes of Iron Man. It really feels like you are there in the movie because its on bluray. I also love the special effects of the Iron Man suit; I really thought that they used a real Iron Man suit. I loved the part when they showed Tony Stark putting on the Iron Man suit part by part; the special effects is so unreal because you can see every single metal gear and mechanical parts moving and being put on Tony Stark's body. In my opinion its the best superhero movie. I highly recommend this movie for anyone.

Never cared for Iron Man or Robert Downey Jr. but this movie has changed my mind about them both. Downey creates the perfect blend needed for the Stark character and the way the story plays out is great too. I kept waiting for the "cheese" moment, but it never came. Came close once, but gratefully it just walked that line and never crossed. The only complaint would be that I think Terrance Howard was miscast for the tough as nails James Rhodes. His voice, the babyface, deminor... none of it said he was raised in the streets and was a military man.

This is the total package, action/adventure! The acting is outstanding with an all star cast, the story is reveting with a classic action super hero! Even the feed for the next series of movies in the future at the end leaves you wanting more after all that! And the picure quality can not be beat with blu-ray! Ending was just a little over dramatic, seems like that final battle scene they worked to hard, but still works to entertain! Unbelievable A+ rating from this reviewer and I was not even a fan of Iron Man prior to the movie, but I am now!

Iron Man took theaters by storm when it was released and I was truly impressed on opening weekend. The combination of Robert Disney Jr. As Tony Stark, the incredible effects, and compelling story of a mans transformation into a hero made this one of the best super hero movies of all time. The picture and audio quality on the Blu-Ray disc are top notch. Being a one disc release the extras are lacking compared to the 2 disc. Overall, Iron Man is a highly recommended spectacle that needs to be seen.

I was pleasantly surprised when I went to see this one in the movies. When I first hear that RDJ was playing Iron Man I was a little bit skeptical...but since I've seen this and Tropic Thunder...he can do anything he wants....I mean cmon..."I'M A LEAD FARMER MOTHER$%&#@%!!!" This had a really cool storyline, great special effects, good acting...what else is there? I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it. The Bluray does look terrific although the standard def version isn't too shabby either...

This is honestly one of the best movies I have ever seen. I love the Matrix and Transformers and this might have been better. Or close. They did an incredible job on this movie with the realism and story line. Definitely the best Marvel movie yet. And the characters were perfect. Robert Downey was the best actor they could have gotten for this movie. But the technology they used in this movie was just mind blowing. I wasn't a big comic book hero person, but this movie was outstanding. Must buy!!

The director of this movie did a fantastic job integrating real-live actors and a great story into lots of CG. The effect is seamless, which is a testament to his skill. Until we watched the making-of, we assumed the Mark I suit was real since it looked so clunky. Not so! Really excellent movie. The Blu-Ray transfer is very good, but we were a little disappointed at the lack of outtakes. This project seems custom-made for lots of funny one-liners when great actors screw up.

This movie was great! The plot was interesting, with appealing characters to move it along. The actors played their parts well and handled the dialogue lightly. Definitely worth watching, and I'm DELIGHTED that I saw it in the theater. For those of you who have impressively large televisions and surround sound systems (I do not, sadly; yeah, 27" SD TV, right here) this movie should translate well to your living room, and for those of you who don't, it's still worth owning.

This is one of my favorite movies. Saw it in the theater and being able to see it at home in BluRay, Well... Blu me away (pardon the pun). Downing, Jr. does a terrific job with the character, and it is very well written. Funny, action packed, and almost believable. (Hey, it's Ironman). Highly recommended for BluRay. I'll be watching this one again! *note, I gave the DVD extras a 3 star as I haven't watched any of them yet. I'm sure they're pretty cool though...

4 of 5 stars for the Marvel comic book turned movie, Ironman. The story was nicely modernized to include conflicts in the middle-east and also modern technology (i.e. mobile phone built into the iron suit). The story shows how our rich technology geek got "converted" into the original ironman. It shows how he later got an upgrade by developing his own tech. The scenes around his development of the flying jets is funny and later shown is how the suit is articulated to provide flying control surfaces. The how movie has a feeling of Transformers specially when the chief bad guy builds a transformers style device. Great special effects and a good look to the movie. Downey is very good in this role. Paltrow was not a powerful as she could have been. The only issue with the movie is that it seemed long for its contents. I do recommend the movie and look forward to the next installment. The blu-ray 2 disk set is packed with extra stuff.

It's hard to remember now that, when Iron Man was made, it was considered a huge risk by Marvel studios. Iron Man was a 2nd-3rd tier character, Robert Downey Jr. had well-publicized personal problems and Jon Favreau was not a well-established director. What they delivered was a superhero movie that was not weighed down by itself or the need to seem grandiose. They established very simple goals and knocked them out of the park.

this is one of the best superhero movies around(probably ever made).but nothing will ever beat the dark knight. robert downey jr doesnt seem like he ever could be iron man.but when u see the movie, u realize he is perfect. hes so talented from the black guy in tropic thunder, to this. all the cast is great and really boosted the directors career. since i dont know how to spell the directors name, ill just say HE suprised me.

Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark) was great. They could have not picked a better actor to play Tony Stark then RD Jr. My family and I went to see this movie in the theaters and we were on out seats the whole time. My 8 yr old was glued to the screen, and that is hard to do with an 8yr old unless it is an animated film. Way to go. We could not wait till the movie came out on dvd. lots of extra's. this is one for the library.....

It wasn't just the movie we were after when buying this, but all the extras that come on the second disc. We have enjoyed watching the extras, commentaries, and learning how they made certain parts of the movie. The movie itself is a fantastic story, too. It definitely has repeat watchability! We have already watched it twice (plus originally in the theatre) since we bought it. I'm sure we'll enjoy it a few more times, too!

That actually had big success, sense 2004. Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark was one of the best performances of the summer. Terence Howard was pretty much anything you could hope for in the role of James Rhodes. Gwyneth Paltrow was good and Jeff Bridges...well, The Dude can make anything better, he even made Stick It watchable* I was happy to finally feel like good movies can still be made. *I have never watched Stick It.

This movie was ALOT of fun! Me and my g/f saw this in the theaters and loved it! So of course we had to buy the Blu-Ray when it came out! This picture quality is unbelieveable!!! It is total reference quality! If you have a good surround sound system your audio experience will come to life!!! This movie is also just flat out good! Robert Downey Jr. portrays Tony Stark perfectly!!!! This is great for the whole family!

This is a very good movie. The plot is excellent and Robert Downey Jr. does an excellent job as Tony Stark. The special effects in this movie are very good. The enitre movie is filled with awesome action sequences. The DVD doesn't have a ton of bonus features but this is still a very good movie to buy. One of the best 2008.

This is a great movie, worth paying a little extra for blu- ray. The picture and audio is great, with a good story behind it also. The audio seemed a little better on Kill Bill Blu-ray, but not much. I liked that it had alot of bass. I have a klipsch sub-12, and with the sub volume about half way up, the explosions and action scenes shook my entire house. If you want to show off your sub, it is a must have.

Paramount knows what they are doing! I haven't had a single complaint about their blu-ray transfers, they simply look amazing! It has a 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 encode which is more than enough to have all those special effects blasting through your HDTV. #MUSTOWN

Marvel finally hit the nail on the head with the transition from comic to movie with Iron Man. This movie had it all. The acting was superb, the effects were top-notch, and there was plenty of great action! The plot line was excellent, and there's a special little surprise at the end of the credits that just put the icing on the cake. I have nothing bad to say here. This movie gets 5 stars all around!
