I'm not usually big on animated movies, but Wes Anderson's "Isle of Dogs" is a fun, humorous adventure. It mixes American and Japanese culture in a way that is respectful to both, while also making these cultures accessible to new audiences. Unlike many animated movies, "Isle of Dogs" is enjoyable for children and adults alike and I highly recommend it.

This was such an excellent surprise! I like stop motion productions. This was not only an excellent stop motion but the plot was excellent as well. This is an adult movie although some older children will enjoy it as well. P.S. I usually never have time to do these reviews but this movie is worth it!

Though not Anime, Presented in animated format that mimicks Anime. Plot revolves around a Japanese city that has banned all dogs and exiled them to an Island that is used as a Garbage Dump. Tells the story of boy coming to the Island to rescue his dog; the dogs fight for survival and to restore their proper place in society. All Star cast voices the animated dogs. Fun trying to figure what star does the voice of what dog!

We enjoyed this even more than the Fantastic Mr. Fox. It is conceptually unique and visually dazlzling. But we have come to expect nothing less from Wes Anderson. The story teaches lessons without hitting you over the head with the heavy points he is making. Enjoy, laugh and learn!

Wes Anderson has created a wonderfully inventive world filled with quirky, emotionally deep characters. The story is very nuanced and highly enjoyable. The animation is a loving homage to the stop motion films of yesteryear. Everything you would expect from Wes Anderson and Co.

Now of the Laika films this is closer to the bottom for me, but still very well done. Huge step down after Kubo as that was by far the best one. Paranorman and boxtrolls I would probably put in front of this as well. If you like those types of movies it is still worth taking a look

I absolutely love this movie I went to see the movie when it came out in the theaters and have literally been waiting and waiting for this movie to come out. This was my first Wes Anderson movie I've seen and since seeing this I've been looking at ALL of his movies that I can find.

It could just be because it was hyped up. But I would have rather see this for free on like TBS than paid money for it

A bit weird but good enough that I watched it twice in a row You have to be a fan of the style of move it to really enjoy it and appreciate the amount of work and effort that went into making it the bonus features were very entertaining and enlightening to see the methods that they used. It kept the intentions of the grandkids.

This is one of my favorite movies of the year yet alone a Wes Anderson movie. The animation is top notch and the story is heartwarming. Beware of Spine slashes on the steelbook. I had to return a couple from INSTORE ones but the one I ordered online was perfect.

I have been a Wes Anderson fan for many years, and a collector of his films. The Fantastic Mr. Fox was the first time I was able to share with my kids, and the Isle of the Dogs now makes a second. I liked this movie even better than ...Mr. Fox. The voice acting is really good, and the quirky Wes Anderson humor comes through making it enjoyable for both kids and adults. A really well made movie.

These two directors are great quirky story tellers and they have a unique style that draws me straight to their films. This movie didn't let me down at all and the voice actors were great, it felt like I was watching a Japanese version of The Fantastic Mister Fox.

The movie was so so, but for a steelbook collector like myself, the artwork on this is incredible! I purchased this on sale so if you’re not a fan of the movie I wouldn’t recommend spending the extra $$$ for this at full price, but on sale, it’s a great purchase.

Great movie. The steelbook cover has a nice weight and finish, and it's nice that it comes with the digital copy for Movies Anywhere. The original physical copy of Isle of Dogs has Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital copies included as well, so the steelbook is the defining factor between them. I prefer the look of this version, but some may not find it worth the extra price compared to the original.

Funny, touching, great voice work by Cranston, Goldblum and Norton. Maybe best for ages 10 and up because there are a lot of subtitles. The humans speak Japanese and the dogs speak English. The Featurette extras show the level of detail that went into this film.

The animation is superb, the characters are distinctly Andersonian, and the plot/concept is wonderful if you: a) like science fiction, b) like classic kurosawa samurai fare, c) value loyalty, d) love dogs!!!, or e) all of the above.

The movie takes place in Japan sometime in the future. In a land of pollution, waist, false accusations, and political intrigue. The story revolves around a very intelligent boy searching for his lost dog. It is a message movie of respect for all living creatures.

Just like Fantastic Mr. Fox, this art style animation is fantastic start to finish. Visually it’s perfect and the story and humor are a real treat. Overall you won’t be disappointed unless you’re a cat or possibly the Black Panther.

After some hit-and-miss outings over his past few films, it was great to see Wes Anderson return to form here. The stop-motion animation is beautiful. It doesn't quite compare to Laika's high points like Kubo and the Two Strings, but it is really good.
