I was curious to see what 3d from the '50s looked like after hearing that they made good use of pop-out back then, There's basically only 1 scene in this movie with good pop-out but the picture quality is good and it's a decent movie

This transfer to 3D looks pretty good. I have to admit that I wasnt expecting much in the way of quality since the movie is early sci-fi, but its a pretty nice transfer!

The movie looks great on blu ray, even in black and white. 3D looks great, even for the film to be in a boxed configuration aspect ratio.

This is definitely a1950's type video with minimal 3D but if you like B grade horror films then this one is for you.

price was great. however movie itself not. plot was just too simple. it did have some nice 3d depth though.

IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE is an established classic among the science fiction films of the 1950s. Much ink has been spilled discussing its place in the genre and its status as the first cinematic adaptation of the work of Ray Bradbury. It's a shame that so many film writers and historians over the years have given away its central conceit (a mistake I will not repeat here), as this convinces those who have not seen it that the film will lack tension and suspense and atmosphere. If you have not seen IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE, I will let you discover for yourself the tension, the suspense, the atmosphere, plus the fine performances, the literate script, the tight direction, the sharp production values. But the real revelation here now is just how much better—better-looking, better-sounding—and more enveloping the film becomes when seen in its intended stereoscopic 3-D format with original three-channel stereophonic sound. IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE was shot in two-strip 3-D using Universal's own proprietary camera rig. Its makers showed restraint where restraint was called for, but they also knew exactly the right moments to break the plane of the screen, so to speak, and drive home to the spectator the visual power of three dimensions. Now that the film has been entrusted to the capable hands of the 3-D Film Archive for careful pictorial alignment and adjustment of small but niggling errors, it looks better than it ever has. It piles shame on the timid, tepid, and often pointless 3-D on view in so many of today's multiplex blockbusters. The original magnetic stereo sound, with discrete left, center and right channels, has been preserved on this Blu-Ray. It is remarkable that it survives at all. You may be astonished to hear true directional dialogue that seems to follow characters as they move here and there across the screen. Your next door neighbors may be astonished to hear such incredible dynamic range, especially in a film of this vintage; be prepared to ride the volume controls as one mighty explosion after another rocks your sound system. Perhaps the most staggering fact of this present incarnation of IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE is the small price Universal and Best Buy are asking. This film would be worth your consideration in any event, but if you are a serious fan of science fiction or 3-D, given how little this 3-D Blu-Ray costs, you simply must add it to your collection. You will not be sorry.

I am a fan of the 50s/60s horror/SI/FI movies. Especially 3-D . Well I saw this offered on Best Buys site and this week they put it on sale so. I jumped at the chance to buy it. This movie is every bit as good as I remembered it as a kid. The 3-D in this movie is just great even though it is in black and white .and I am glad I purchased it and if you are a fan of this era ,you will be glad too.
