Nice continuation of the first movie and overall it was cool to see how it all ends. I never read the books but enjoyed the first movie so I was all for seeing the sequel. In my opinion, the first movie was the better of the two and I liked seeing the kids stories play out more than their adult versions but the casting of their adult selfs was great. All of the characters were believable and integrating the flashbacks to strengthen the character arch was well done. Pennywise kills it in this one just as he did in the first chapter so if you were a fan of the first you should enjoy the conclusion.

So, if you've seen the first film we get to see the Losers all grown up and dealing with Pennywise 27 years later. The casting for the adult versions was well done. I was actually thinking of Jessica Chastain for part II, and there she is! James McAvoy was also a great choice. In some ways the first film was more gripping and intense for me, but the second gives us new scares and my only complaint would be that the entity "it", was all too easily dispatched in the end, considering it's enormous power. Nice cameo from King himself.

If you did Part 1 of this mini-franchise of Stephen King's classic horror story, you're probably in for this part, too (no pun intended). The film is much, much better than the TV series that preceded these movies by several years, but both films and TV show pale in comparison to King's novel. Still, if you're looking for a great looking horror story and have four and a half hours to invest, you can do a lot worse than "It", both parts.

The producers made great choices in actors to play the adult versions of the children from the first movie. This movies relies less on the humor that was so prevalent in the first, but there are some funny moments. Still scary, though sometimes the special effects get in the way. The scene with Beverly and the old Kersh lady was cleverly crafted and well paced, and then it seemed a bit ruined when she turned into an almost cartoonish CGI monster. Less is sometimes more. Still, a great movie.

IT chapter 2 delves a little more into the backstory of pennyise and derry and flushes out the narrative of the kids. I wish the first one would have done this as there seemed to be a lot of missing moments of bonding that were in the book (they are more or less here, although in flashback form) and it made the friendships seem rushed. The acting is on point, bill skarsgard is awesome as pennywise again and it is definitely more Stephen King and less goosbumps, overall its just a better movie. I wish they would have pushed the R rating further in both movies like a King adaptation deserved.

Not very many special features on the bonus disc. Kind of a waste. *side note don't go to the Boynton beach,FL Location to pick up orders. Lots of attitude for a sales associate to pick up an order and hand it to you*

I already had the IT steelbook, so I was obviously going to pick this up anyway, but it ended up being a really beautiful steelbook. The art is as dark and creepy as the film and opens into one large picture, of the timeline from children to adults. Inside, when you remove all 3 discs, Pennywise is subtly in the background, the way you could just barely see his face in the sewer the first time. There could be more bonus features, but we are all really here for the movie anyway. Overall, a great purchase.

A better take on a classic story

While I did enjoy Chapter One of this two-part series, I was a little apprehensive about how this film would handle the story as compared to the TV mini-series which I also have on DVD. The special effects and how they handled the end of the story there was disappointing for such a good run up until that point. Suffice to say, I much prefer how the end of Chapter Two here was handled here. Also, it did make much more sense to separate Chapters One and Two by how old the main characters were (children/adults).

Stephen King's It was a long novel. It's no wonder the movie had to be broken into two parts. But the movie is nowhere as scary as the first, being too long and wandering all over the place...

Pennywise told me to write this review. Hes been feeling down since those pesky kids outsmarted him but...if you want to know if you should own this film on 4k to watch on your 4k tv then yes. The obvious answer is yes. Buy it now. Watch it once a month. Its a remake done right with suspense and gorgeous cinematography and visual effects.

Real scary with lots of surprises which is a good thing. Intro with gay bashing seemed somewhat irrelevant as did reference to ancient Native American lore. Even so, quite entertaining.

    The Conclusion to IT!

IT Chapter 2 wasn’t as good as it’s predecessor but was good for what it was. I think if Andy Muschietti had more time to work on his film it could have been much better than the film we got. My only other complaint is I wish The Loser’s club members could have been more diverse. All the kids were white except one and then one black kid got the least screen. By IT Chapter 1 being set in the 80’s I felt like there should have a kid to represent all the ethnicities as best as they could if they cared.

While IT 2 certainly had a lot to live up to... it unfortunately didn't live up to the first movie. Lack of actual Pennywise encounters, less connection to the characters than the first movie... but all in all it was still good and of course much better than the TV version (though Tim Curry is amazing) Its a good 2nd chapter but i am very much looking forward to the super-cut of both movies together with bonus scenes... that, i think, will bring a perfect balance between the chapters.

I liked the sequel even though the uneven first film didn't age that well to me. Feels like this is how they should have approached the first movie mixing the older cast in from the start. Pennywise is great of course but the story ultimately isn't that scary or interesting really for all the terrible things going on. I thought Doctor Sleep was a better sequel with more consequence, even though King stories sometimes feel a bit thin.

This movie is a great finish to Chapter One, and a great adaptation of Stephen King's classic novel. This review is of thr steelbook case, which is beautiful. For a creepy movie, it's important to have a creepy steelbook, and that's what we got. We'll designed both inside and out, I'd recommend this to any collector if you can manage to find it for sale somewhere.

Better than part2 as it delves right into the storyline from the getgo. In comparison to the original, I felt this one focused too much on the special effects and preferred the other version. It was not a waste of time but kinda did find myself looking to see how much was in the movie. It was not because of Pennywise and on his presentation than the movie might have been a 3-star film at best. Bc I bought part one, I wanted to complete both but I kinda regret buying them.
