This reboot is solid, but much like the original, you will need to wait for the sequel for the conclusion. The update certainly reflects technological advances. The casting is good. Overall, it's a good movie, not one I need to watch over and over.

I loved the original. I don't feel like Bill Skarsgard can hold a candle to Tim Curry but I feel like I'm the only one that feels that way. I feel like an adult, male clown, is more scary than a little girl clown. Not a terrible movie, all-in-all.

But got this for five bucks over Thanksgiving so maybe I'll get around to watching it. The problem is that now it's football season and the time I watch movies means my wife will want to watch it to, and she has the right to veto my selection.

As a fan of the novel, I don't think any movie could ever properly tell the story of Stephen King's It. Still, this movie is solid - if you can put the book out of your mind and enjoy the film on its own merits. Looking forward to the sequel.

    Eh, It Was Okay

I didn't see this movie in its theatrical run, but I was aware it had smashed box office records for a horror film and had received great reviews. So I took a chance and bought it. Eh, it was okay. It's not a lousy film at all, but I also didn't think it was the earth-shattering, knockout movie I was expecting it to be after hearing all the reviews. Honestly, I didn't think it was all that much more amazing than the classic made-for-TV movie that starred the great Tim Curry. I should've just stuck with that one and been satisfied with it. This remake isn't one that I'll probably rewatch numerous times.

So honestly I prefer the Tim Curry one but thos one wasn't horrible. Skarsgard does pretty well bringing hos Pennywise to life. And the eye thing he does! Straight creepy. If you like clowns give this a watch. Its fun.

Not the nicest steelbook I've ever seen. It arrived with a small dent as well. I can't complain too much for the price, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're getting it on sale.

I have to drop some point in my review because the picture of the item on the product page had the picture of the blu ray with "blu ray, dvd, and digital copy" on the top. my order arrived on time and everything, but the disc didnt include a dvd or digital copy. all that customer service could tell me was "sorry". I love shopping at best buy, i just felt mislead because what was pictured didnt match what info was provided in smaller print lower down on the product page.

Not sure why people like this so much. The acting and casting of the kids is good, but the story is monotonous, and there is hardly any depth to it. Again and again we see the same scenes with Pennywise transforming into all sorts of different "scary" creatures, scaring the kids, but then they're not too scared as to not seek out Pennywise to try and fight him. And then it's like, he feeds off your fear, so if you don't fear him you can defeat him. But the kids never seemed to fear him in the first place. So whatever. The best scenes are when the kids are just hanging out, riding around town. The first time we meet Pennywise is also a good scene. Every kid has a super depressing home life, including one where incest is taking place, and all seem to be from single parent families for some reason. Maybe the point is supposed to be that their home lives are scarier than this dang clown. We end the movie with a forced set up for the sequel that will apparently be about the kids as adults, since this film doesn't alternate between the stories the way the novel does.
