Don't waste money.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a review that you look to see if you should by this or not so please, take this review into consideration. Terrible signal, very poorly made and will test your patients. I bought this product and the first thing I noticed is that the screen was slightly messed up but, not enough to not be able to see it. None of the channels came though and when it did the music some how would still be staticy. The price of the product should be more like 10 or even 5 dollars. Don't wast your money, even if you have some to waste.

Don't waste your money!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this because my vehicle doesn't have an auxillary port and the CD player no longer works. I thought this would be a great solution, I could just plug my phone up and play music. I listen to satellite radio majority of the time and I don't care for static. It was so staticky you could barely hear the music. The sound volume and quality is much better just by playing it on my phone. I will be returning this item as soon as I can get back to the store.

Horrible Transmitter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went in knowing that a transmitter would be horrible in Urban areas, but this thing constantly dies. It will turn itself off after a couple minutes of playing, and will also shut itself off after nothing is played through the transmitter, which means you must rapidly select a song before it bursts you with static. I'm fine with the low amount of ambient static, but the fact that it constantly dies for no reason is inexcusable. Not to mention the sound quality is absolute garbage as well! Would definitely not recommend.

Great for the first few months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this about a month after I got my iPhone (in April) and it was great for the first few months, but then it went downhill from there. At first, the black wire cover separated from the jack that plugs into your phone. Slowly, the wires became exposed and then finally, one of the inside wires severed in half. Now, it's usless. I'm really disappointed because I used it everytime I got in the car. I was careful not to just yank the cord to unplug it from my phone, I held it at the jack. Total disappointment considering it was not cheap and I thought Griffin was a good brand. Other than that problem, it worked well, except for when I hit certain areas where it became static-y, or once in a while it would pick up a station from another car or bus.

A Great Road-Tripping Transmitter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this transmitter to use for a road trip. It worked great. One of the other reviews talked about how you couldn't hear the sound very well. I had that problem when I first plugged it in, but all I had to do was turn up the volume of my iPhone and then the sound worked correctly with the speakers. I have never had a signal or static problem. I really like that I can use my iPhone cord to charge my iPhone while I am using this. It allows me to listen constantly to music or audio books no matter how long I have to be in the car. I have given this as a gift before, and I have used it myself and would recommend it to anyone with an iPhone or iPod touch.

Not Worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We paid $79.00 with tax for this, we got in the truck and hooked it up. First we had to turn the truck stereo all the way up to be able to hear the songs, then we had static. All the other functions were good, it just didn't have enough power to play the songs without turning the volume up to hear them. We took it back. Wish there was something out there under $100 to play your IPHONe music on your car stereo. We have no aux jack. Well have a great holiday

Servicable but less than I was expecting
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already owned an analogue device of this type, but all four of the frequencies that it offered are occupied enough to interfere at some point on my commute (due to topography even though it is only 7 miles). I had hopes that a digital system with the advertised feature to automatically find the best frequency would solve my problems. Unfortunately when they say "the best" what they really mean is the next, relatively empty frequency that it scans to. So I still have the same problems on the way home of the "best" frequency it has found ceasing to be even acceptable before I arrive home. My car stereo is not easily tuned to a specific frequency and this device doesn't have a strong enough signal for my stereo to scan to it. I suspect that there isn't a better product out there due to FCC regulations. It works as advertised with the exception of the misuse of the superlative "best" when what they meant was "good" frequency.

Wire breaks easily
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The audio quality is not that bad if you find a mostly static FM channel to switch it to. It's not that powerful so it doesn't override most stations, and when people drive by that have other FM transmitters, they override this one, and their music plays through your speakers during the duration they are next to you. The worst part about this product, is if you leave the thing in your car and use it all winter, then use it all summer, and when it gets to winter again, the wire that attaches to the 3.5mm jack breaks and the thing is useless. I would recommend a Bluetooth FM transmitter that doesn't have wires.

Poor construction.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although the service it provided performed as expected, the wiring around the top of the unit became exposed after only 4 months of very light use. I was able to return without any issues.

Would NOT spend the money again!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All I can say for this product(cause I have only had it about a month) is that it still works most of the time great occasionally getting stactic-y, as for it charging anything that has never happened from the moment I bought it.... I actually thought the sales person just told me that so i would buy it, since they had nothing else in stock for me to even consider...not worth $50

Great bluetooth transmitter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Griffin Technology - iTrip Auto Mobile FM Transmitter worked great with my HTC One X phone. The radio and my downloaded podcasts sounded great. The install was easy and seemless. I am glad I have this product and would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you for reading my review.

Poor quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used these type of transmitters before. This one is the worst I've had yet. The package touts a "10'-30' range". Maybe they meant inches. You absolutely MUST use a station that has no other broadcasts on either side of it. Good luck finding that. I ended up buying a different one at an outlet mall for 8 bucks that worked better and had more features (a thermometer), This one was returned.

Save your money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old car had a radio with an audio input for iPhone/iPod, etc. Absolutely loved it. Thought this would be a good solution as I once owned an Eclipse CD changer that ran audio through 88.3 FM. Even though another station in my town broadcast on that frequency the audio from my Eclipse player was clear and crisp even when listening to books on CD. This thing? Forget it. There is so much static and interference that even when playing rock music the fidelity is poor. Now try listening to jazz or classical. Good luck. The frequency that works one day won't work the next. My advice: save up your dough to buy a real iPhone/iPod radio. You get what you pay for.

Posted .I'm so sorry to hear about the trouble you had with your iTrip Auto! Unfortunately, the FCC has limited the strength of consumer FM transmitters in recent years. We're no longer allowed to make an FM transmitter that is capable of overpowering a licensed commercial broadcast. If your previous transmitter was able to do that, it's likely that it was made prior to the FCC's regulations going into effect.
iTrip Auto works best when you're able to find three consecutive stations that are all static, then tune to the middle of those three stations. If you're unable to find a completely unused frequency in your area, then it's possible that another solution like a cassette adapter or an auxiliary input might be a better solution.
Hope this helps!

Cheap Cheap Cheap.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product and within 4 months the wire came out. I had to send the company a picture of the broken one before they sent me a replacement. Well the replacement broke with the wire disconnecting from the main piece again . : / A poorly made piece of junk.

Find another
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for a friend as a gift. Their car is not MP3 ready. This thing barely held a signal. Once it connected, the sound was distorted and very low volume. I forget the price, but it is not worth what i spent. They use it now just to charge their phone

Sound quality is terrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I switched from an iPhone to a Nexus S, so I needed to get a universal adapter to play my music over my car stereo. The one I had before for the iPhone was great, it was like an arm that went in the car charger, but I don't think Best Buy carries it any more. The sound quality on this one is terrible, it's very quiet and full of static, and I can't hear my music at all. I'll be returning this.

Not worth it !
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well I live in Woodbridge Va, and cuz of my classes and work I spend most of my time in the traffic. Thought it would be a good idea to buy this product since my car doesnt have that mp3 plug thingy. But dammn it gets so frustrating to find a station that actually works. I just got sick of changing n changing stations frequently and when i find one, the sound quality is bad, I mean really really bad. Sometimes it gives me an headache. So now I only use this product to charge my ipod n all I can say is its an expensive charger.
