DO NOT BUY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this for my daughter upon recommendation of the Best Buy salesman at our local store. Quality of sound was mediocre at best but served its purpose at the time. This device stopped working and literally fell apart after three months. Will attempt to return today but do not plan to buy another. Dont be duped!

Piece of garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for my son for Christmas. It quit working in less than a month. This is the second one he's had - the other broke after a short time as well. Of course, it's too late to exchange or get a refund. I wouldn't suggest anyone buy this. Costs way too much for the product you get.

Waste of Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use for a day trip to Maine. I was so excited to make a playlist and be able to use it in the car to keep my family entertained. I had to ask a salesperson if there were any sales, because I was shocked it was $50, but decided it would be worth the money to listen to my itunes Playlist and charge my iphone at the same time. First of all, the packaging is horrific. You need like a knife and a surgical degree to take it out of the box. Then, once opening it, you need to download an app onto your phone....annoying....but still I thought worth it.....until you have to search for radio stations that will play. OK, every station the little app would tell me to turn to would literally last no more than 60 seconds before turning to scribble. I tried to put up with it (while torturing the rest of my family) for a good half hour until I sadly claimed defeat, that this was one of the worst purchases of my life. Don't waste your money and time like I did!!

Posted .I'm so sorry to hear about the trouble you had with iTrip! We make our transmitters as powerful as is allowed by the FCC, but iTrip may still have trouble in crowded radio markets.
For best results, we recommend finding three consecutive stations with only static on them (even silence can indicate that something's being broadcast) and then tuning to the middle frequency.
Hope this helps! If you have any other questions about getting the most out of your iTrip, just give us a call at (800) 208-5996 between 9am and 6pm Monday through Thursday or between 9am and 5pm on Friday (CST) and we'll see what we can do for you.

doesn't work near cities, being returned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great idea, poor execution. I really wanted this to work, but after scanning all the low frequencies (populated by colleges and community stations) I was unable to get a decent enough signal. I don't know- maybe boost the signal power of the transmitter unit?

Doesn't work well at all
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this 2 days ago at my local Best Buy. It's not inexpensive so I expected it to work flawlessly. Unfortunately it does not. In fact, it barely works at all. I tried multiple FM frequencies including the manufacturer's recommendation to find at least three consecutive frequencies with no FM station and use the middle one. Sometimes I could get some sound if I moved the device to a different position but even then it was weak and full of static. I tried in a different car and different ipod and same problem. I just returned it and the cashier at Best Buy told me that was the second one returned there today. I should have read the reviews here before I bought it!

Poor quality for $50
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm really disappointed in this product. The signal is so poor that it is half music and half hiss. I tried many frequencies, but no luck. I discarded the packaging, so I guess I'm out for a return. I would not recommend purchasing this product.

Follow Catpeg's advice - works fine with one trick
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Won't go into details here, but see Catpeg's review below - this product seems to work fine with one extra trick. I found mine on the clearance rack...maybe they know people know of the trick and are discontinuing it...

Doesn't Last
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have now purchased two, and the wires detached within 6 months on both of them. The volume on my car stereo has to be maxed out to get a decent volume from the item as well.

Broke the next week
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this so I could listen to my books on tape from my phone. It worked for about a week, and quit. I went back to the store and they no longer carried it and could not do anything about it. I don't hold any grudge against BB, but this product was not cheap, money wise, and sucked.

Great product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it to listen to my iPod. And this is a great product, I get to listen to music when my other radio stations cut out. I even get music in the mountains where I wouldn't get other stations.
