I'm going to guess that you've seen this movie. And if you're as big a fan as I am you should be very happy with this transfer, It came out in 1946 and it certainly looks and sounds the best I have ever heard it or seen it. My only complaint is not many extras. The extras they have are interesting but focus mostly on the transfer itself. So you may want to keep your previous dvd/blu ray editions just for the extras.

If you've seen this movie before, as I have several times, you already know the plot and the story. But like most others I suspect, we buy it for the upgrade in image quality. And no, it isn't upgraded so much that it looks like it was shot yesterday or earlier this year, the age still shows, but it is undoubtedly the best that this movie has ever looked.

This is a great all time classic Christmas movie. It played on BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES. The title was "CHRISTMAS WITH THE JOKER". Bruce says to Dice "I could never get through the movie because something always came up." The graphics look stunning and I like how you get the Black and White plus the colorized versions. This movie is worth adding to your steelbook collection.

I stand correct on the title without any exaggeration. To me, this film is an example of why modern Christmas movies are full of secularism. I'm not saying that modern Christmas movies are bad, "antichurch-like" or whatever the case may be but to have a classic Christmas movie where one believes in hope, miracle, and selfless-ness, it hardly the case nowadays. Anyways, great Christmas movie for those who hasn't seen one. I recommend this not only to watch as a Christmas tradition but to own it!

Do I need to really rate this movie? One of my favorite Christmas movies of all time. A must have for your collection and the price at the time was well worth it. Best Buy had it on sale for early Black Friday which was two weeks before the big sale day. Does have film grain and they didn’t use any DNR which I am glad. The best this movie has ever been.

The movie, while not by definition "a Christmas movie," features both the joy and melancholy typical of the Christmas season. The powerful performances of Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, coupled with the thoughtful storytelling, provide for us a moment to pause and think about the value of our life and the lives of those around us. If the plot itself seems trite, it is only because others have taken it for their own use time and time again. This is the Original, and the force of the story will undoubtedly hit you, leaving your heart full.

This is a holiday classic my wife and I watch every year. When I saw they released it in 4K I had to get it. The movie looks amazing in 4K, the scan they did is beautiful. The other really cool thing I like is the Blu-ray version it comes with is the colorized version and the 4K is the original black and white version. So no matter what you’re looking for you have it with this purchase!

This item contains both the original version as well as a colorized version. I haven't watched the colorized version yet, but the picture quality of the b&w version is great. What I like most is that there isn't any filler that you have to sit through before you can access the disc's menu. No commercials or trailers. I haven't gotten to watch the one special feature it has, which is a making-of. But for such an old film, I'm surprised there's any special features at all. Excellent addition for your holiday collection.

I love this movie. Even though it’s technically not a Christmas movie but I don’t care in my mind this is my go to Christmas movie that I watch every year. I didn’t think it would be a big step up in quality since it’s in black and white but I was wrong. It’s the best I have ever seen this movie.

I don’t watch too many B&W films, but this one gets me every time. Hard to believe it wasn’t a success when it was first released. I know it’s easy to think that the world won’t miss one soul. Every life matters more than you know. Every choice you make, every soul you meet has a purpose. Share this film with your friends and family, and enjoy a Holiday classic.

If you haven't watched It's A Wonderful Life at Christmas time (or any time) you really need to. And this version has both the original black and white (which I prefer) and the colorized versions. The story of a man who has done all the right things but finds himself in an impossible hole. Figures the world would be better if he were never born, and he is shown what it would have been. Remember your own self worth in this classic story.

It doesn't matter how many times I've seen it, I still love watching this movie every Christmas. The season just doesn't feel right without watching The Life and Times of George Bailey (and The Amazing Clarence). And now that I have it on Blu-Ray, I don't have to wait for network or cable TV to cooperate with me. Besides, I kinda miss how, in the old days, they'd show the heck out of this during the entire month of December on TV.

Featuring a beautiful colored cover design on the front of the steelbook that easily makes this version worth it, while also including the poster that comes with the standard 4K release. As for the film itself, it is as close to perfect of a transfer from that period as can be, not to mention it’s simply one of the greatest films ever made!

Never really watched it all the way when i was a kid but did for the forst time, for being an older love that my mom grew up watching, its actuall a good movie, and funny. Good Christmas classic to watch with fhe family on Christmas eve!

A classic, emotional movie that’s watched every Christmas season, even tho only the last third takes place during that time. Watch it for a fantastic performance from Jimmy Stewart, who stars after coming back from serving in WWII

The front and back cover art on this SteelBook are terrific. Combine that with a glossy finish and you've got a winner. I wish this has come out when the movie made its 4K UHD debut last year, but Paramount succeeded in getting me to double-dip for this classic film. The included (folded) movie poster is an interesting touch, but I won't do anything with it. My only quibble with this release is the inclusion of the colorized version on the Blu-ray instead of a 2K conversion of the B&W remaster. If you're looking to future-proof your collection for the day you buy a 4K TV and/or disc player, you won't be able to enjoy the benefit with the included Blu-ray. The 4K SteelBook release in the UK has the restored B&W version on the included Blu-ray, just FYI.

They just don’t make them this good anymore. A true testament that you don’t need great effects, violence, bad language or any of the newer “improvements” to movie making to have a great outcome. A good script, a wonderful cast and a nice moral to the story construction is all you need to make a timeless movie. The enhanced 4K is great.

Jimmie Stewart and Donna Reed, two of Hollywood's finest actors, truly bring out the meaning of Christmas. It's not about gift giving/receiving but what you have right in front of you. There is truth to the saying that you don't know how fortunate you are until what you have is taken away!!

I didn't grow up with this movie like many people, I first saw it only a few years ago. The story is so compelling that I was determined to get a copy of my own. With a new 65" TV in the house it had to be blu-ray. Normally I'm a purist and would watch it in black and white, but I was overruled by the rest of the family and saw the colorized version instead - both are included. The colorizing was very well done.

First tiem watching it, had heard it was a classic and hreat Christmas movie... Really touched me deeply and reminded me to be grateful for all things amd u never know what impact u can have on other lives. Great family movie.
