I purchased this as a gift. I liked how it has the 4K version (true to the original black and white), regular Blu-ray version (colorized) and a digital option. I figured I couldn't go wrong in that the person I was giving it two should be able to view it one of those ways. I haven't seen the 4K version, but any reviews I've seen have been positive.

Truly underated for its time, this movie was never a box office smash; however, perhaps it wasn't as understood as it is today or perhaps it didn't have the right mix of actors for the time. However, the actors, with time, became superstars in their own right...particularly James Stewart and Donna Reed (George & Mary Bailey). It come complete with BW and Colorized versions...I wasn't convinced as I've seen colorized in prior years...not so with this...it is a high tech colorized version that amazed everyone (including the kids who thought it was indeed in color!) There are multiple scenes and characters theat today impact our lives, without us even knowing it...i.e., Erny & Burt are cab driver & policeman (best of friends) witnessed and captured by Jim Henson...welll, he used those names later on in his career as a puppeteer. Carl 'Alphalpha' Swetzer also appears in this film (one of his final roles). There are others...including Zuzu's comment from her teacher...every time a bell rings an agnel gets their wings. This movie will capture you belief in life and address how we all make a difference in our daily lives (much like George Bailey needed to find out). See the movie...enjoy!

A classic family movie that never looses its wonder.

One of my all time favorite movies. The transfer to blu was extraordinary..This is as pristine as it gets...Extras are the same as the DVD..The colorized version is excellent quality, however I prefer the B&W version..For some reason the color version just "didn't feel right" and didn't convey the movie the same in my opinion..Maybe it's just from years of watching it in B&W...SOund is the same as dvd...Just standard DD and mono...A must own....I watch it every year at least once during the holidays!

You must own this if you care about classic holiday films. This has both the black and white original version as well as the more recent colored print.

I found this to be the most outstanding Christmas classic ever made. A real tear jerker. This is one of Jimmy Stewerts best films of all times. I highly recommend this film

I firmly believe that every person needs to see this film regardless of who they are. Easily one of the greatest films ever made, it clearly deserves the recognition it earned over the years. It is hard to believe that this film was deemed both a critical and box office disappointment when it was initially released. There are several dvd versions that have been released over the years, my personal preference for picture quality is the 1998 Republic Pictures version, but any of the more recent versions are fine too, as they almost all contain the same bonus features as the original disc. Whatever you do, only watch the film in its original black & white, the colorized versions have been awful!

My husband's favorite Christmas movie is "It's A Wonderful Life," so this was the perfect gift for him. Love that there is a b/w & color dvd and a keepsake Christmas ornament. Great packaging too.

"It's a Wonderful Life" was one of my Dad's favorite movies of all time and has become one of mine as well. It has become a Christmas-time essential for our family. The depth of character that George Bailey displays as he struggles to keep his head above water and his dream alive is a lesson that all would do well to take to heart. "Every person has a very real purpose" is a message of self-worth that all people need to hear. It is truly a classic.

this is a timeless classic and it is just as good in black and white. it is a great family movie.

it's always strikes me funny that this is watched mainly as a x-mas movie when x-mas is only in the last 15 minutes of the movie. If you want to see a movie that best describes why life, a human life, is so special and should be treasured then watch this movie. It's great to see a movie that shows a man who nothing goes for him in life the way he wants it to is shown how much he has really done for not just for those he loves but all the people he has met in his life. Now stop reading this and watch the movie already!

A classic christmas story with the best acting and a terrific story. This is the movie to sit down with your family and watch on Christmas Eve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not many people my age [24], that I personally have seen this movie but I've recommended this movie to people and their review of the movie has always been a positive one, it has a great message and overall it's a great movie! I can watch and never get tired of it.

Truly classic cinema here! A tradition here in the family to watch every Christmas. It never gets old and touches the heart every time.

Has always been a great classic holiday movie, but the colorized version was perfectly mastered and helped engage my 11 year old who LOVED this movie. We look forward to watching this every holiday season ... more than once!!

Me and my mom love this movie. it is a wonderful movie we watch it in november and again in December and January. That's how good it is. I have always loved as far back as i can remember.

The title speaks for itself, glad I could find the movie at Best Buy
