The laptop came with a basic charger (round plug with just +/- connection) I believe something broke in the connection port on the laptop. (Solder joint or pin) as her laptop would not charge anymore. The laptop also had an additional power port that is more electronically digital regulated port. We bought this charger and she was back up and running. This type power supply is a better option in my opinion. Happy with purchase.

When using the docking station for a rog, you need a little more power than the OEM charger supplies. This was a perfect upgrade to give the extra power needed.
