New adapter

I am sorry that the mini dock is causing issues. The dock may have issues staying connected if there is a protective cover on the keyboard portion of the computer. Posted .Color matching and simple to use are the best characteristics of the JCD382. In the case where you are wishing to add Ethernet connection, we suggest taking a look at the JCD383.

Yeah a dongle

I know it’s like 100 bucks but it’s worth it if you have a MacBook Pro and want to use legacy ports. What is nice is that you get a full size hdmi port, two usb 3.0 ports and you also get to keep your 2 usb-c ports. You can use all of these things at the same time! Oh and it has regular and microsd card slots. Just great and matches the color to the MacBook perfectly.

Great to hear that the adapter is working for you. Regarding the heat you are noticing it is not a concern. An aluminum casing will transfer a lot more heat out a device than a plastic casing will. So the aluminum will feel warmer. Thank you for your feedback and sharing your concern.
