Posted .Having a case on the Mac can be great for protection and it's unfortunate the JCD382 can cause connectivity issues with that in place; we have other devices that connect via a cable that could be of better use to you and would not require the removal of the protective case on your Mac. Posted .Due to the nature of the JCD382 requiring a full insertion to the side of the Mac for full functionality, having a cover on could impede a proper connection. We're sorry to hear it was not the right adapter for you; we do have other PnP hubs available that connect via a host cable eliminating the need to remove the protective case and if interested we would be more than happy to discuss them with you. This purchase was an absolute necessity and it has served me well!
