However, it doesn’t dock properly (lose connection), nor does the indicator light up. It just doesn’t work. When I returned it to Best Buy, I was told that the lose connection was a common problem

Adding a docking station to your laptop will allow your computer to perform to its fullest potential. Newer laptops can support many peripherals, but just do not have the connectivity options to get everything hooked up at once.
