For such situations, we have the JCD383 for example that connects via a host cable and this will no longer be an issue. Get a hub with a cord!!!

The two thunder ports don’t connect all the time so I have to either slightly wedge it up or slightly budget down. And then the actual port on the hub itself he HDMI doesn’t seem to always stay connected even with different wires. The same goes for the USB-A ports. Sadly I would return it but it’s now past the 30day window.

USB ports stopped working

Not so good design

Posted .Because the JCD382 requires a full insertion leaving no space between the mini dock and the Mac, it can be concerning to apply pressure to connect properly, thus causing the adapter to not function as intended. Not Good, Avoid if you treasure your Data

Once it starts exporting onto a 4K then the ports are ABSOLUTELY useless. Down to USB 2.0 speeds, or even worse it just chokes up and your USB drive is dead. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to make this, but spend some more money to get reliability if you value your data.

Posted .For Mac users looking to add capabilities to their computers, the JCD382 is a simple PnP device that will allow you to read SD cards, connect an HDMI monitor, charge your computer and USB ports for peripherals i.e. mice, keyboards, flash drives and more all in one. Simply insert to the side of the Mac, watch the blue LED light turn on and you're done!.

If you put a protective case on your computer this adapter doesn’t work. Adapter needs to be completely flushed against computer to make contact. Had to remove cover each time I used it. Not enough USB ports. I returned it and got a different adapter. Thought this adapter was overpriced.

Within 1 month it got to the point where now if you touch the computer while it's plugged in it'll disconnect anything that is plugged in rendering this item completely unusable.
