Installed the adapter on work computer about 2 months ago and haven't touched it since. Use dual monitors 5 days a week, 9-10 hours a day and haven't noticed any loss in quality of picture between monitors.

This thing does exactly what it says. Read the reviews and issues before buying and made sure to download and install the software from the website before plugging it in. Never used the disc. The wave issue doesn't happen 24/7 so it's really noticeable when it does, but I think it's just when opening a new window. The wave lines are about 4-6 pixels tall and wave left and right flowing down the screen. Our desktop and most of the programs we use have a black background so you really notice the light colored window borders.
Where this is installed, there are 3 screens, a projector screen facing the audience, a screen facing a stage and one in the A/V booth, which this is hooked up to, so no one has too put up with it but the operator. Originally bought this for the new screen facing the stage. For windows to duplicate a screen however, I learned they had to be on the same video card.
I think it's a monitor issue that it won't power down from a VGA input. It was hooked up to the PC via DVI before and turned itself off. Most other monitors turn themselves off when you turn off the computer, but not if the cable is disconnected. Since this is powered by USB, when turned off it may seem to the monitor that there is no cable connected. Minor annoyance to have to turn the screen on and off manually, but I hope someone reads this and is not surprised or upset when it happens to them. I considered returning this and getting a DVI version for that function.
FYI, the monitor is an older viewsonic flat panel. I'm not there as I write this or I'd give you the model number. It has DVI, VGA, Composite and S-Video inputs and WILL turn itself off in less than 5 seconds when I switch any other input but VGA, which is weird. If anyone has any insight as to why this is, please comment. I think it's just because it's not hooked to a conventional internal video card.

It is so convenient to have this item. I do wish it was just cords. The connector does just find. Sometimes I have a communicating issue but if I unplug and hook back up it is fine.

Bought this because I have a dual monitor setup in my home office for my personal computers, but my work laptop only has 1 VGA port. Saw this one day at Best Buy and thought I'd give it a shot and see if it would allow me to use both monitors with the work laptop without having to buy the special video card. Hooked it up with no issues at all. Installed the drivers and I was good to go. Now I can view multiple work screens on both monitors. Thanks, Best Buy and j5!

SCHOOL. I used this adapter to connect my tablet to a 21 inch monitor. Before using it, I installed the current drivers from J5. Once installed everything has worked flawlessly.

It's ok. Has too much lag for my liking. Too expensive for the poor quality, but it gets the job done if you have no other options.

Works great! Only downside is having to use the CD for the driver. I have an ultra book so not so easy to use with it because of the driver. But overall works great!

It seems to work fine. USB 3 might perform better for videos , but it does what I need it to. Driver disk was okay, but old. Downloaded the latest, and it works fine.

I needed to connect 2 monitors to the JUD500 docking station and this was needed since the docking station cannot accommodate more than one monitor. Easy to install, but the USB cable is way too short to provide a clean, managed workstation environment for the user. When a USB extension cable was used, the monitors wouldn't work. Other than that, it provided us a way to hook up multiple monitors to this docking station.

It does the job if you need it but it's pricey and I wish it did not take up as much space on the desktop. But it allowed us to connect our old monitor to the new Mac Mini. Did the $ calculation and it saved about $20 over the more expensive new monitor with the right connection....and we could use our old monitor as the second screen as well which was an even bigger saving.

I needed to add a 3rd screen and this was a reasonable price. After using it for a few weeks i would have paid more. I keep my email or IMs on this screen and it freed up the rest of my desktop for other work. The refresh rate is not something that you could place games on, but it works well enough for videos. All in all I am impressed with the ease of setup and its function.
