It's small, light weight, it's powered if you need it with included wall plug, and works great on iPads with the iPad Lighting to USB to connect harddrives.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.recently purchased a Microsoft Surface Pro 3. it had only one usb port which made it impossible to use a wireless mouse, flash drive and printer simultaneously. the j5 solved the problem by turning one port into 4 high speed 3.0 ports. there is an additional benefit of using the optional power supply which turns one of the ports into a high power charging port.

Works great and doesn't need an external power supply even though one of my devices was marginal on an unpowered USB2 hub.
