This one requires AC power, which insures that all USB ports are powered, which is necessary for some USB devices. I currently am using 6 of the available ports, and all of the attached USB devices are recognized and working properly. Great product.

Does exactly what I needed - charge devices

As a smart watch app developer, I have quite a few devices I need charged at all times. This is the cleanest-looking hub with the largest number of ports I could find. It's working great, and even keeps the devices charged when the computer is powered off.

Great Powered Hub For The Price

The connectivity is great when watching videos/shows stored on the connected 2 TB HDD via the hub. There is no need for buffering, and the connection remains stable even if all 7 ports are used. The only downside is that it requires an external power adapter (included) which adds to the mess of wires on our desk and takes up another outlet on our power strip, but the upside of that is we generally don't have to worry about the power requirements of the devices connected to the hub (within reason). Overall, the build quality is great and it functions perfectly, so I'd recommend it.

USB ports themselves seem kind of tight. Be gentle. USB header cable is super long as is the AC adapter. All 7 USB ports used and all respond as they should. Wish it came with vertical mounting stickies. Had to get those.
