MB Ethernet controller died. Used this to replace the dead motherboard Ethernet controller. Was plug and play on Windows 10 and a 2.0 USB port. Installed this USB adapter and cable before turning on the computer. When Windows 10 loaded internet was up, automatically detected the USB to Ethernet Adapter. Feels just as fast as the MB controller. Very happy with purchase.

If you're a Google Chrome / Chromebook User, you will want this handy little item whenever you're in a hotel or someplace where Ethernet is the option to connect to the internet. It can be a life-saver occasionally. No drivers needed with Chromebooks. Adapter works flawlessly with your Chromebook's USB 3.0 Ports. This adapter also reverses to work with 2.0 & 1.0 older USB devices.

This adapter does not stay connected to my network. I downloaded the drivers from j5create, but didn't help.

It is well built and worked as soon as you plug it in USB 3.0 port for my new Dell i7 win 8.1 laptop. However, it was recommended to download the driver for USB 3.0, gigabit eternet so I did. I am happy for the performance but I think the bottleneck for me is router and up. It is good enough for what I do now.

The product was exactly what I needed. Was able to connect quickly when my office space did not have the right connection. And it worked very well!

This replaced a failing network card. I had to return a different one I bought there cause in did not say on the box it needed windows 10 only in the instructions. This one works with win 7 and up. Like other said I'm not sure it does the gig speed but might be a limitation of my desktop. I am using it in a 3.0 socket. It's plenty fast.

Bought for laptop without ethernet capability. This added much more speed to internet downloads. Adapter performed as expected.

Works like magic! I bought this for my husband because he uses my new laptop to do his podcasts with friends. The new laptops don't have ethernet connection bays and our internet and WIFI in our house is poor at best in the room where he does his podcast (even with an extender). This has been a game changer! Who knew something so simple would work so well. No more frustration with spotty internet.

I had an initial backup set approaching 1 TB that I wanted to get to my network attached backup drive. The backup drive is hard wired but my macbook pro was connected via wireless. It took over three days to do the backup. I installed the adaptor to be able connect my Macbook to the network by hard wire. The second backup set (also 1 TB) went to a second identical network attached backup drive. By going over the adaptor, the second identical backup took about 17 hours, a huge improvement.

Gives more secure internet connection than wi-fi for a budget price. Definitely a must-consider,in my opinion, if your laptop does not have a built-in cat5 or 6 ethernet cable jack.

This piece does what I need it to do, it creates an ethernet port from the USB hub so that I can meet my WFH requirements for being hardwired.

Works great. Just plug it in and it's off and running. Easy way to add to RJ45 connection to a PC that does not have it.

I upgraded my Internet speed and realized that my laptop could only handle speeds up to 100Mbps. This well constructed adapter essentially upgrades your device to Gigabit capacity. Well worth the price.

This worked great on the Mac book air. College wifi can be unreliable at times. This is needed to access the Ethernet since there is no port on the air.
