It is simple. You plug the product to your laptop's USB port. Then you connect the Ethernet cable to the product. That's all. It has been working reliably.

It doesn't have a GbE port so I had to get an adaptor that rides a USB 3.0 port and the adapter delivers the full GbE speeds. Latency wise it is symmetrical with a standard I/O PCIe card and an integrated GbE input.

It worked great and didn't have any issues with it. I'm not tech savvy, but I believe I could also use it for my Dell computer too and not just my Mac.
