My new HP Spectre, like many of the current ultrabooks, lacks an ethernet jack, so this adapter does the trick. It also helps to have the gigabit speed when doing streaming video conferencing--my boss does this with the exact same adapter. Some reviewers noted that they had to update the driver, and I guess this is true--my Win10+HP combo did the upgrade so fast I didn't even know that the driver fix was going on. I liked the aluminum finish and sturdier build of this one -vs- the Insignia, and while it was a few dollars more, it is a tax write-off anyway.

Running on wifi was slow at times especially on an iMac of 8 years. This item put me back in business. easy install. Simplicity at best. This game me a little more time before having to spend more money on a repair or new iMac.
