I bought this converter because the Toshiba 2 in 1 laptop (10.6 inch screen) I also purchased, did not have a dedicated Ethernet port....nice to have it available when needed, like when at home, doing a extra long or critical download. But usually would use on a wireless connection, when traveling. So now I can have both the USB port option or the Ethernet port option by using this converter. Yes it is true that I am giving up a USB port, when I use this converter, but at least I can have the Ethernet when I need it. I have been using this device for over a month and it has worked without a single problem. An even better option would be the alternate model of this device where it has an extra USB also built into the one converter...then I would not lose any USB ports while the Ethernet was in use.

Bought this to setup a new wifi router using my Surface Pro. The Surface found this device as soon as I plugged it in, downloaded the necessary drivers and I was up and running in a few minutes. Worked great for my needs.

It was really easy to hook up. I use it to connect my computer to my Ethernet. It works great. I recommend it.

If using with Windows 10 it is literally plug and play. Instant Gigabit speed connection to your computer. I have 500 Mbps up and down now and did not have a fast network card. In an instant now I do. With other OS you will need drivers first from the CD that comes with it if you do not have an internet connection at all before the adaptor, or using your present connection you can download them before plugging in the adaptor. It's even well made.

The ethernet to usb adapter works as intended. Easy to install. It increased my mbps 3 fold on the LG OLED TV.

Does the job. If you're laptop doesn't have ethernet port than its good to have it. The best part is the speed, it supports up to 1gb, although I haven't got a chance to test the speed all the way up to 1gb.

We purchased this to hardwire connect a Macbook with only a usb port to ethernet. It works as described flawlessly. No problems. One star off because we monitored and read that it puts off strong pulses of electro magnetic frequencies once it establishes connection. It introduces lots of signal noise due to cheap, compressed electronics. All of these small portable non-powered devices do this, so there's no getting around that.

Great dongle that is plug and play although if you search, you will always find an updated driver better than Window's ones which are licensed by the chipset manufacturer. Good quality build with aluminum case. Compatible with both macs and pcs. The only downside I can think of is that it doesn't work with the ipad full size USB connection camera kits that let you use gigabit over wire. This is not their fault but rather apple's proprietary design which makes it work with only their 100mb adapter or only 2 other non-apple products on the market.

Needed a way to connect a new modem/router in a home with no computers equipped with an ethernet port, and there was no other internet option in the home. This adapter was easy to set up and worked perfectly to allow us to finish the modem/router connection!

If you have no spot for a hardwire internet this is your solution. Works great.

I use this when at office instead of WiFi. My Laptop only has USB not Ethernet. Now I have both. The speed is great, the ease of use: Plug it in plug in the ethernet and go. No setup required!

This product works great and is built very solid. I use it everyday with all 6 of my laptops everyday, at work and home. The performance is great. It performs just like an internal card.
