Posted .Generally, adapters emit some heat as a normal part of its operation. Please note that hotter operating temperatures can be expected, especially if the Micro USB power-in port and/or all ports on the hub are utilized. It's possible that the mouse may be running into RFI. Please test with a wired mouse. Thank you.

I took it back (lack of function)

I had a macbook with a screen that doesn't work. I attempted to use the docking station to connect a monitor. I could not get the macbook to send a signal to the monitor. The device also did not come with a charger to power the docking station. I could not do a proper diagnosis of the problem as a result. I've had other versions of their docking stations and I did not have this issue.

Posted .Hello, the JUD380 requires drivers for the HDMI port to be loaded to the computer and unfortunately, would need the primary screen to allow applications and to complete the process. Posted .To clarify, the dock does not include its own power adapter, it is designed to operate without one, though an optional 5V Micro-B DC input can be used if additional power is needed.
