Easy instructions to bring up to date. After updating it is plug and play!!! Bought two for both Switch docks in my home!!! Even with low speeds you can really feel the difference! My speed is 10Mbps and hardly ever lags playing online.

You do need to install the driver from their website. FYI It worked for a bit initially without any drivers (like most of these devices) but then stopped suddenly. Resolved by installing their updated drivers (likely due to a Mac OS update).

The college recommended using their Ethernet network in the dorm rooms rather than their wi-fi network for security. My Microsoft Surface laptop does not have a built-in RJ45 port, so I bought the J5Create Gigabit Ethernet adapter and a 14-ft Ethernet cable (CAT6). I followed the (easy) installation instructions that came with the adapter, and it worked like a charm. Provided gigabit Internet connectivity. No problems whatsoever, and I had the peace of mind that Ethernet gives me while at the conference.

At times wifi is unpredictable and I prefer a hardline. This works perfectly! When I saw an install cd I was dreading dealing with it but I didn't need it. Plugged it into my USB on my computer and my Ethernet port on my router and I was good to go. I couldn't be more pleased with my puchase.

Works with macOS Sierra

This adapter works perfectly with macOS 10.12. I just downloaded and installed the drivers, rebooted, and plugged it in; that was it. I can get wirespeed throughput and it even works great through a USB 3.0 hub. The adapter looks good with my rMBP too.

This is The Best Performing USB to Ethernet adapter I have worked with/owned. If you have both 2.0 and 3.0 ports on the same PC try both ports just to verify performance. I have seen some PC's with just marginal increases in speed while others were obviously faster. Using various Speed Tests that are available do not seem to help in consistently. any feedback is welcome...GrandNationalMike

Excellent adapter for modern laptops

This laptop didn't have an RJ-45 (network) port. The installation and setup was flawless and we were up and running in no time. The unit is robust, with a thick cord and flex shield, and the silver color was a nice bonus.

Great devise verses buying a new motherboard

Not much of a decision to make. I plugged it in to a USB port and was back online instantly. No difference in speed uploading or downloading. Works great and simple to install.

I got a Macbook pro with Thunderbolt 2 . But this usb , works much faster . I get my full 1GB/1GB from fiber optic which I have on Fios . I wish I could give it 10 Star
