I recently stayed at a small college for a conference. The college recommended using their Ethernet network in the dorm rooms rather than their wi-fi network for security. My Microsoft Surface laptop does not have a built-in RJ45 port, so I bought the J5Create Gigabit Ethernet adapter and a 14-ft Ethernet cable (CAT6). I followed the (easy) installation instructions that came with the adapter, and it worked like a charm. Provided gigabit Internet connectivity. No problems whatsoever, and I had the peace of mind that Ethernet gives me while at the conference.

Great devise verses buying a new motherboard

My onboard LAN went out on my motherboard so I was faced with sending in my motherboard for warranty repair or simply plug this in and be back in business. Not much of a decision to make. I plugged it in to a USB port and was back online instantly. No difference in speed uploading or downloading. Works great and simple to install.

The adapter worked great with our Dell XPS 13 running Windows 10 Pro. This laptop didn't have an RJ-45 (network) port. The installation and setup was flawless and we were up and running in no time. The unit is robust, with a thick cord and flex shield, and the silver color was a nice bonus.

This worked excellently to migrate a new surface pro to our corporate domain (surface pro has no NIC for wired LAN) effortless driver install and works arguably better than my lightning network adapter on my MAC- the network status lights are exceptionally handy when trying to troubleshoot network problems.

I am happy with the ease of install and the performance. We did not think our son would need an Ethernet option on his college laptop because they have Winfield throughout the campus but it the dorm the wi fi signal is week at times and he can not get access. So I bought this devise and he has no issues now.

I have been putting it off for too long so I shall give a short review. This is The Best Performing USB to Ethernet adapter I have worked with/owned. If you have both 2.0 and 3.0 ports on the same PC try both ports just to verify performance. I have seen some PC's with just marginal increases in speed while others were obviously faster. Using various Speed Tests that are available do not seem to help in consistently. any feedback is welcome...GrandNationalMike

Bought for my son's laptop. When I bought the laptop I didn't realize that it didn't have the slot for the Ethernet cable. Found this, picked it up, and had it working in less than 5 minutes. No issues with speed so far.

      Hi,
A lot of laptops are no longer being manufactured with Ethernet ports to reduce the size of the computer. The JUE130 adapter is an easy way to add an Ethernet port and get a faster and more stable internet connection when compared to WIFI.
      Thank you,

Works great!. I just switched to Gigabit and this adapter pulls down the packets as fast as it get's them. One thing I might recommend is that people buy powered USB hubs so that the heat generated by these busy devices can be pulled away, especially for laptops. I had fast thumb drives, external SSDs and devices like this one generate a LOT of heat. A powered hub with save your battery and pull away the heat. A very good USB adapter and also a common chipset so drivers aren't a problem.
