I have a Lenovo Flex 14 laptop that has minimal amount of ports. I connected this to the USB C port and then connected two monitors via hdmi, a hard drive and a mouse to this device! Everything works! I have three monitors now! Happy with it!

Also use it for a USB numeric keypad. All work great, and come back from a laptop sleep cycle properly, though I did need to add the optional USB power cable to get the monitors powered enough. My only problem seems to be latency on the second USB port, because I can’t add a mouse or external drive. Luckily I can live without these or use a different laptop port.

My only gripe is it requires extra software to run. The instructions almost point you to the correct download place. They give enough information to Google where to actually get the software. Once there, it gives little confidence that it's real.

However, please take note that this dock does not provide power to laptop. You have to use the laptops own USB-C power adapter. Like other j5 products, you need to download latest drivers before using. other than that, works really well for now.

Macbook Pro & Air M-1 Chip Owners Be Aware!

But, for those of you with new Macbook Pro or Air laptops with the M-1 chip, as it turns out, this hub will NOT work/interface. This is because J5Create is yet to make downloadable drivers that will interface/work with the new M-1 chip.

My daughter is using her MacBook for at home school this year and just to make sure there weren’t any disruptions I wanted her to connect via ethernet cord. MacBook doesn’t have an ethernet port but luckily I found this adapter. Works just as it should!!

This handy little guy helps me dock my laptop so that I can use large monitors and a nice keyboard and mouse. Very important for me at my age! :-) The Geek Squad helped me choose the appropriate mini dock for my set up.

The device doesn’t always recognize the HDMI, but always the other usb devices. If you disconnect and connect several times, it will eventually work. J5create online support provides feedback relatively quickly (within a few days), but they seem to try looking for problems elsewhere so i stopped answering them. Also it seems that their product is not acting like a real docking station, as my recently purchased windows surface pro7 has lost battery life since i started to use j5create. I will purchase another usb to hdmi adapter and use the j5create only when i need multiple usb connections in the same time.

I'm so sorry to hear that this has happened! With the Surface Pro, we recommend using the OEM charger since the Surface will be able to pull the correct amount of power. There can be multiple reasons why the dock isn't working, my customer service team is trained to diagnose and troubleshoot every issue that can happen with our product. What may seem like a non-essential troubleshooting step can actually be critical to solving the problem that you're having. I recommend continuing the process with my team and we can get you up and running if you'll let us!
