My daughter is using her MacBook for at home school this year and just to make sure there weren’t any disruptions I wanted her to connect via ethernet cord. MacBook doesn’t have an ethernet port but luckily I found this adapter. Works just as it should!!

It not only works better than a more expensive ones I tried but also have a multiple USB connections.

The device doesn’t always recognize the HDMI, but always the other usb devices. If you disconnect and connect several times, it will eventually work. J5create online support provides feedback relatively quickly (within a few days), but they seem to try looking for problems elsewhere so i stopped answering them. Also it seems that their product is not acting like a real docking station, as my recently purchased windows surface pro7 has lost battery life since i started to use j5create. I will purchase another usb to hdmi adapter and use the j5create only when i need multiple usb connections in the same time.

I'm so sorry to hear that this has happened! With the Surface Pro, we recommend using the OEM charger since the Surface will be able to pull the correct amount of power. There can be multiple reasons why the dock isn't working, my customer service team is trained to diagnose and troubleshoot every issue that can happen with our product. What may seem like a non-essential troubleshooting step can actually be critical to solving the problem that you're having. I recommend continuing the process with my team and we can get you up and running if you'll let us!

I switch out my personal and work laptops each night, plug and play! No setup needed, just did it’s thing. Sent the model to colleagues to buy for their home office. The Price is great!!

A MacBook has a single USB-C, this unit helps to multiply/multiplex other media and storage. Apple should "rethink" their accessories offerings, by offering a similar product or offering this in their stores as well.

Does the job with just enough ports

There are smaller docks that just don't measure to today's needs. The bigger one fried my screen, not sure. We have purchased about 7 in our office and one went bad which is why I removed one star. Best Buy was awesome though and swapped it out for me without any grief.

However I have learned using this that docking stations can have limited features. Ultimately I wanted to connect my laptop back to two monitors, however this docking station, you cannot close your lap top. When using the snipping tool, it only works on one screen and only half of it at that. This docking station does do the minimal job, I just wish I knew more before purchasing it.
