    Takes forever to set up, and when done it continues to disconnect. I am returning tomorrow and purchasing an Apple branded product.

    does not offer much and less ports and pricy you can get more for less price online

      We do offer docking Stations such as JCD543, JCD542, JCD552 and much more that would offer more connections for your computer.     Had to return, didn't work with Dell. The picture came through on the second monitor but the sound wouldn't work.

      Hi Sandy, We are sorry to hear about your experience with the JCD381. There are settings to look at in regards to the audio output issue you experienced; if the desired device is not selected for audio output, no audio will be produced. When it comes to display, conflicting software, defective HDMI cables, too long of HDMI cables and many other areas could be the culprit of the issue occurring. In order to better understand the scenario, we strongly recommend contacting the manufacturer's technical support team mentioned on the packaging in order to troubleshoot and obtain full functionality.     for $100 this thing has already broken in less than a year the video quality is blocky and the plug doesnt fit right anymore

      Natahn, it sounds like you may be experiencing lag if it is blocky. In this case, we would recommend using a plug and play model which will work better since it is working off the computer's hardware rather than a software based device.       The USB-C Dual HDMI Mini Dock requires an installation of a driver for proper functionality. Unfortunately, drivers are only available for Windows and Mac platforms. I believe the Steam Deck may support DP Alt Mode and the Mini Dock does not support that feature. We carry PnP devices that supports DP Alt Mode and DP features such as JCD383, JCD371 and more. ** Feel free to contact j5create Technical Support if you require further assistance.     My docking station has two HDMI ports. Only one will work at a time and not consistently.

      Hello,
      The HDMI ports on the docking station each have different requirements to function. The HDMI port next to the VGA port requires that the software driver be installed. The HDMI port next to the Display Port requires that the host cable from the docking station be plugged into a USB-C port that supports display port alternate mode.     Returned it. Using this on my macbook pro. Screen flickered and was a bit laggy.

    Terrible hub, c port does not work out of the box, HDMI ports have error messages.

      Error messages when attempting to use HDMI ports on the JCD381 could be due to software not being installed properly, or even incompatible hardware.       Not having enough USB ports for all your gadgets can make work harder than it already is - no doubt there.     9 months use is what we got out of this product. While it worked, it was great! Don't know that it is worth the money though.

    Allows 3 displays from my Laptop. Great unit!

    My laptop only has a USB 3.1 Type C gen 1 outlet , not full Thunderbolt port. Contacted J5 and they recommended this docking unit, since my laptop does not have USB-C gen 2 (Thunderbolt). Loaded the 381 driver from the J5 website and was able to connect two 1080p external monitors in addition to running the laptop built-in monitor, giving 3 screens in extended desktop mode. Works perfectly! (Running an Acer Aspire E15 E5-575-74RC, Intel i7 7500 with Intel HD Graphics 620 card).
