Perfect for adding additional equipment without plugs running into outlets.

Working like a charm and just what I needed to get me up and running.

I had a mishap with my older j5 Create station and needed to buy a new one. (I spilled coffee and destroyed the old one). The old one worked perfectly by all means, until I ruined it. I bought this version after my accident, and am still impressed with it. Honestly, it is very expensive, but looking at it, I am amazed with the quality and features. I still give it 5-stars (even though it is not the same model I am used to). It has all of the features, plus more, that I am used to. This product is great, and if you need more USB-3.0 ports, just buy an adapter to add more ports. Instead of 2 ports from this model, I added another adapter and now have 5 ports :)

I bought this hub about 2 years ago and I really like the small form factor, and the prospect of all the extra I/O ports. Unfortunately when pushing two or even just one external display the hub overheats and the monitor/s no longer receive signal. I think with some active cooling this little guy could be a good buy, but I'm going to recommend against it.

After update on Mac OS it stopped working, even before update it was 50-50 depends on what mood this thing was. Support is useless.. Buying Belkin let see how that one does. Purpose dual HDMI output,charging, USB, Ethernet and everything else work fine.

I have used this product for more several months in my Mac. First, you have to download the drivers, and install them. You have to follow a very careful process in order to do that. Since day number one, the product keeps crashing and you have to reconnect the product to a different port and pray that it works. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it crashes and starts working right away, sometimes it refuses to work. It crashes enough for me to seriously consider buying another port, which is what I am going to do right now. Obviously with a different brand that sells products that actually work. I tried to return it. They said they first need to receive the product before I can get a replacement, and also you have to request a label, otherwise you will have to pay for yourself. Do not even bother. Just buy the more expensive docking stations because this is plainly deficient.

I purchased this on 11/30/2018. It worked well until January 8, 2019. I was using this with my Windows Surface Book 2. Out of the blue I lost my internet connection. Then I notice the ethernet connection cycling (connect/disconnect/connect/disconnect/etc). I filled out a trouble ticket with j5create. They never responded. So I called their customer service number and lucked up and reached someone. They did their troubleshooting and confirmed that the unit needed to be replaced. They said I would receive an email with the instructions on how to replace the unit. The email only asked for my name and email address (which I had already given them on the phone and obviously they had my email in order to send me an email). I've heard nothing from them since. I've been calling for 3 days now and you can't reach a customer service rep. You will stay on hold for 10 minutes then This company completely sucks! If it bothers you to throw away $120, then stay away from this USB Type-c Dual HDMI Mini Dock (JCD381) and j5create. When it works, its great. But once it stops, you are on your own. Basically there is NO WARRANTY!

Days of headache trying to make work with a Macbook Pro with M1 Pro chip. Just buy the Apple HDMI adapter and a secondary USB-C - USB splitter. This required updated drivers and 10 additional steps, after all of it, the functionality did not relate to Mac, three finger scroll while on screen scrolled wrong screen, etc.

This device gets really hot. Any application moved to the monitor that is connected via the docking station is problematic. Excel becomes super sluggish. Word lags tremendously. Doesn't matter the application or manufacturer, it will respond much differently on a monitor hooked to this docking station versus the original monitor. When the monitor is hooked directly to the laptop, the issues go away. It causes issues in network connectivity. Drops the connection. Run from this device.

I was a little hesitant went buying this product, because I own a MacBook Pro 2018. The other reviews on here about Macs and this product have been less than comforting. I can say from my experience that the product does exactly as advertised. Very happy.

I got the device so I could bring my work computer home to connect with my home setup. After some hurdles, I got my personal and work computers to utilize the hub. It took me a long time because I hadn't discovered that if you bump the device or USB connector IN THE LEAST, it loses connection. Most of the time, the mouse and keyboard reconnect okay. EVERY TIME, though, I have to unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back in to get the monitors working. Pulling the USB out and back in doesn't fix it. You have to do the HDMI ports. Right now I have a big book sitting on the device so it doesn't move. It works, but for $100, I expect better.

Package said it worked for Chrome. Video does not. USB 2.0 expansion and power pass through were checked and function but video does not. Same ports function with same monitors using a geem TypeC to HDMI adapter. It's on them. Their website states no Chrome updates are available for this product. Apparently, this product is useless for Chrome by design.

Have had nothing but problems. Power cord is way too short and flimsy. At even the slightest movement one of my two monitors loses connection and goes black. Can’t function this way. You can work two minutes before it happens in one sitting or four hours. It’s very unpredictable. But it’s not reliable. And I’ve spoken to support several times (chat only as phone isn’t an option right now so it takes forever) with no solution. This one’s going back. No more j5 for me.

In order to get the HDMI to connect to my Lenova Yoga c930 I had to remove the power cable from the unit. So it works but I need to charge my unit with a second USB. In my Thinkpad it works fine.

JUNK!!!!!! Followed instructions it does not work. You tube instructions sound like they were made by some amature. Who has time to install some drivers and reboot system 50 times to connect 2 cables??? VERY DISSAPOINTED that I waisted my time driving to the store to return this piece of junk.

If you have a Mac, the driver necessary for this to work is horribly broken and immature. Don’t even try. Completely incompatible with Linux or ChromeBooks. On Windows, it functions but works poorly. Would never recommend to anyone for any purpose.

I have a Dell computer for work. When plugging fast power adapter through it, a warning message is displayed saying I should use fast charging adapter. Now I am searching for another one thar can pass through enough power.

Had this sitting around for a couple years. It never worked at all. Latest dirvers, etc. Even tried it on multiple machines. Wish I had returned it when it was still in warranty.

I had difficulties setting this up. Now, I come back to this laptop after being away for a while and the piece no longer shows up on my laptop, rendering all work I am trying to do impossible until someone from J5 creative can help me through this. Knowing what I know now, I would have rather purchased another one.
