The JCD383 will be warmer than other computer components due to its aluminum casing. The aluminum case will actively radiate heat outward from the internal components where a plastic would insulate and keep the heat inside of the case.

Posted .Hi KEVG, thank you for purchasing the JCD383 device. Generally, adapters emit some heat as a normal part of its operation but the body should never become too hot to handle. The JCD383 has an aluminum housing, this is meant to conduct heat away from the internal parts, it can get warm because of that. It works great and haven't had any issues with it thus far.
