    this item get's incredible hot, and as far as I know, heat is not good thing when you're hoping the data will move fast

      The Adapter will get warm when it's transferring data or charging devices connected to it. The constant transfer between the two causes the heat up as it takes energy to move data. Through repetitive use, excess energy is used and transformed into heat. Please note that hotter operating temperatures can be expected. j5create

      Hi Rick, In the case where the JCD383 is becoming warm, we an assure you this is normal as electricity is running through the hub. In the case where the hub is harming you, please contact support and a rep will gladly assist you, if necessary an exchange will be issued.

    Definitely does what it says. I use mine on my new Dell XPS 17. The one port that does not work well is the usb c port. I've plugged in a number of Usb c devices but it seems like they either don't read or charge. Maybe I have a defective unit?
