Posted .Laptop manufacturers are removing network ports to keep laptops as thing as possible. Wi-Fi does not always provide a good enough connection. The JCD383 will not only give you the Ethernet port, but it also has USB-A ports and an HDMI port for another display.

Not a big fan of the way it just flops around like that. I bought it too soon after getting my iPad Pro. Should have waited for a better version of this same dongle. Won’t charge iPad with apple 18w charger. You have to buy a larger power charger. Pretty much just sits on my desk.

Port replicator.

Also occasional interference with wireless mouse action. All this really blamed on removal of adequate number of ports on latest edition of major manufacturer of laptops. Just two total ports for peripheral devices is not sufficient!!!

Due to electricity running through the hub while in use - this is considered normal. In the case where the hub is smoking or harming you due to the hot touch, we recommend contacting support on the casing and seeking an exchange under the manufacturer's two year warranty.

Drivers dont work, no ethernet, beware!

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The hub works as far as USB is concerned, but most newer versions of MacOS do not work with the drivers (or rather the drivers don’t work with MacOS, and as a result, the ethernet connection provides no internet and when you do plug an ethernet cable in alongside say an additional USB-C monitor, the hub gets extremely hot to the touch. Horrible product.

The hub may get warm which is normal, but should not get hot enough to were it causes harm. Posted .The adapter is designed to handle multiple functions, video output, data transfer, and power delivery, all through a single USB-C port. Because of this high level of functionality in a compact design, it's normal for the unit to generate heat during use. The outer aluminum casing is intended to act as a heat sink to dissipate heat more efficiently, which can sometimes make it feel warmer to the touch.
