However, the device gets very hot, very quickly. Also when i used it for my iphone charger, it did not work. Sorry to say that I was disappointed with this adapter.

A Slightly Pricey Item But Well Worth the Value

Perhaps it was the nice marketing done with the package which allowed for a clear view of the adapter without needing to ask for permission to open a box before purchase. It has the ports necessary to accomplish the things I use it for and fits in snugly on my computer without the added bulkiness found in other similar items.

A Handy Adapter

Allows charging at the same time. My only quibble is that it gets pretty warm, and occasionally I am forced to switch the USB 3.1 port that I use because of a faulty connection. That doesn't happen often and always resolves.

Glad to hear that you are pleased with the functionality of the JCD383. It will seem warmer than other electronic equipment due to the adapter’s aluminum case. The aluminum will get warmer than plastic because plastic acts as an insulator where aluminum will transfer heat out and away from the internal components.

It Does the Trick

My only real complaint is this thing GETS CRAZY HOT. Just having it plugged into my Macbook gets this thing hot. I ended up buying some heat sinks online and that kind of does the trick to keep it from melting my desk.

Posted .In the case where the JCD383 is becoming really hot, we recommend contacting the technical support team mentioned on the casing to speak with a rep and an exchange will be issued. Although warm temperatures are expected due to electricity passing through, we do recommend exchanging it in extreme cases. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.

The HDMI port works great from the tablet to the TV. The card reader did not work. USB ports worked okay. Pass though charging works however the high temperature worried me. I did not want to use it for a long time.

Not too bad

When I do it’s worked well for me with no issues. The only thing I’ve noticed is that it get really warm to the touch when I disconnect it from the laptop even if I only use it to connect my printer cable and print a few items. Not sure if that is a normal thing or not.

I HAD NO IDEA HOW MANY PORTS THERE WERE ON AN OLD MAC (STILL MISS THEM) BUT THIS MULTI ADAPTER IS GREAT. SALES KNEW THEIR PRODUCT VERY WELL AND EXPLAINED THE ADVANTAGE OF USING THIS BRAND OVER OTHERS.

Average USB Type C

It does get a little warm and I have yet to get the pass through power to work with the Apple charger. Going to try with a GaN fast charger to see if it makes a difference.

Great dongle, but gets hot

Like it doesn’t matter if you are charging your device with it or just have it for an HDMI adaptor or to plug in a flash drive. It gets hot. No idea why.

I'm really sorry to hear about this! We do expect that the device will get warm to moderately hot, but this is well within normal ranges. Our device has been stress tessed and we have found that the average max opeational temperature for this product is ~106 °F / 41 °C, this is also while the adapter is under a full load or is being used continuously for >~ 1hr.Please remember that ambient temperatures can also affect the unit as well as your computer. Manufacturer's recommend that computers be used where the temperature is between 50° and 95° F (10° and 35° C)." If you are finding that your device is exceeding the average temperature of 135 °F/57 °C, for periods > 30 minutes, it may be defective and we'd be more than happy to help with an exchange. While testing, we haven't found this product to run at anything higher than 112°F/44 °C, for periods <10 minutes.If you would like to speak to our customer service representatives, our information can be located on the back of all of our product boxes, as well as on our website on the contact page.
