I got it on sale for black Friday and I have to use it every day for teaching online with my new Macbook M2. The device gets very warm and stays that way. It fried my headphones and my mic does not function well with it.

Posted .If you are using multiple peripherals simultaneously through the hub, try disconnecting some devices and see if the heat and performance issues persist. Using too many power-hungry peripherals simultaneously can put strain on the hub and cause it to overheat. Connect only the essential devices and see if the situation improves. Ensure that the USB-C Multi-Port Hub has adequate airflow and is not placed in a confined space. If it is enclosed or covered, it can trap heat and exacerbate the overheating issue. It may have been defective but when I plugged it in nothing worked so I returned it and exchanged it for another brand.
