New laptops use USB C ports now, and it is so much better and faster so having these cables allows you to transfer data from laptop to TV or any other HDMI port. Including your van! Most new Van's that have an entertainment system installed have an HDMI. So again this is a very essential cable. If you can get this on a sale it is totally worth it. Allows for 4k as well.
